A Fan Coil Unit (FCU) is a relatively simple device used to heat or cool a specific room or area without the need for complex ductwork. Unlike large central air systems, an FCU is localized—meaning it's usually installed right in the room it serves, like in a hotel room or an office.
The basic principle is in the name: it uses a fan to blow air over a coil.
Intake: The fan draws air from the room (often through a filter). The filters are usually aluminium
Exchange: The air passes over a coil filled with either chilled water, hot water, or refrigerant. the chilled water is preferably 5 degree Celsius and the hot water preferably 50 degree Celsius.
Distribution: The now-conditioned air is blown back into the room to reach the desired temperature.
The unit is commonly used in the middle east
