Very cool picture of one of the first foundation drilling rig ever built. This is a steam shovel converted into a drill rig by August H. Beck Sr. In 1932. It features a kelly bar through an open ring gear. The pinion gear was powered by a steam powered steam shovel swing motor, steam was piped from the base machine up to the rotary. However, the question remains how beautiful that Auger is, the pitches look so even. How they have made it?

Our fully in-house fabricated 1.2 m. dia conical Auger equipped with tungsten tip bullet teeth to be shipped for a project in Oman.
