🟣🇦🇪 **UAE is climbing fast in the global BIM race**

A recent Global BIM Adoption (2000–2025) snapshot places the United Arab Emirates at 58% adoption, ranking 5th worldwide.

This puts the UAE ahead of major markets like
🇺🇸 United States – 48%
🇫🇷 France – 45%

At the top of the ranking:
🇬🇧 United Kingdom – 80%
🇳🇱 Netherlands – 70%
🇸🇬 Singapore – 65%

So what is driving the UAE’s rapid acceleration?

✅ Higher project expectations
Stronger requirements around deliverables, compliance, and quality.

⚙️ Industrialized workflows
Standardization, automation, and structured digital processes.

🌐 Alignment with global standards
Increasing adoption of frameworks like ISO 19650 to secure information governance across the project lifecycle.

⚠️ A major shift is coming in 2026

The ISO 19650 series is currently under revision.

Draft International Standards are expected:
📅 March 10, 2026 – Parts 1 & 2
📅 Early June 2026 – Part 3

Key discussions so far include:

➡️ Stronger project → operations continuity
➡️ Simplified structure and terminology to accelerate adoption

Countries already aligning their 2030 digital construction strategies with these changes, including the UAE and Singapore are likely to strengthen their global position.

But the real differentiator will remain the same:

Ex*****on.
Data quality, governance, and capability building across the industry.

🔮 How do you see BIM evolving over the next five years?

At BIM Pulse, we closely monitor these shifts while helping professionals and organizations develop deeper BIM specialization and digital delivery capabilities.

We’re curious to hear your perspective:
Which countries and which capabilities will define the next wave of BIM maturity?

🇸🇬 Singapore BIM Mandate 2030

Following our recent discussion on Dubai’s regulatory shift toward structured BIM governance, it is relevant to look at Singapore’s national BIM framework as another strong reference model in digital construction transformation.

Singapore’s 2030 direction is not only about BIM adoption; it emphasizes "Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD)" and structured lifecycle information management.

What defines the 2030 framework?

▪ A unified regulatory submission platform "CORENET X"
▪ National adoption of "SS ISO 19650-2:2024"
▪ IDD requirements covering design, industrialization & maintenance
▪ Integration of reality capture (3D scanning, LiDAR, photogrammetry)
▪ Emphasis on digital twins and data-driven asset management

While Dubai is reinforcing regulatory alignment and digital submission standards, Singapore’s framework highlights full lifecycle data integration and interoperability.

The global direction is becoming clearer:

From BIM deliverables → to structured information ecosystems.

The question is no longer “Are you using BIM?”
It is: Are you information-ready for 2030?

2026 marks another decisive step in Dubai’s digital construction evolution.

With Circular 9-1-3/2026, Dubai Municipality expands the mandatory submission of BIM models for building permit applications, formally positioning BIM as a compliance deliverable, not merely a coordination process.

New buildings exceeding G+12 or 15,000 sqm, as well as major modifications to existing BIM projects, now require structured model submission aligned with approved and as-built conditions.

This shift raises the bar for model governance, QA/QC rigor, data integrity, and digital maturity across the industry.

At BIM Pulse, we see this as more than a regulatory update.
It is a clear signal that structured digital delivery is becoming the foundation of project authorization and lifecycle control.

The question is no longer whether firms use BIM.
It is whether their processes are robust enough to stand as regulatory-grade digital assets.

What do you see as the most significant operational impact of this change?
