As we all know, it’s been raining a lot in Dubai over the past few weeks. After the last rain a few days ago, one of our close clients called us like, “Hey, our lighting and electrical systems are completely down… can you come check?”

Honestly, nothing surprising. This is the kind of call we usually get after every rain in Dubai 😅

So we headed there. The first picture shows how a well-known company handled the electrical installation. Believe it or not, the main power panel was exposed on the outer wall — fully open to rainwater. It literally got washed out. The connection from the main circuit breaker was gone 👀

We started checking everything one by one. Managed to get the main power back ON. Then we switched on the lighting system…

Big SPARK 💥

Turns out the LED power supplies were already damaged by rainwater 😬

We disconnected all the affected units and powered up the system again. Some parts came back, but half the place was still dark — most of the ambient lighting was gone due to electrical shorts.

Just a small reminder — we don’t know who’s reading this. Maybe you’re not from a technical background, or maybe you are. But one thing is clear: Dubai’s weather has been changing a lot over the past few years.

So if you’re doing any electrical or related installation, do it properly. Follow IP (Ingress Protection) standards.
