At Waratah Constructions, we’re all about getting the job done - no matter the size. Big projects, small fixes… we handle them all.

We have just recently completed a concrete repair job at the Taungurung Rest Area along the GV Freeway. After removing the damaged section with an excavator, our team installed new formwork and poured fresh concrete, leaving the path looking as good as new.

You’ll often find us carrying out maintenance work at rest areas along the Hume and GV Freeway. If you see our crew while you’re stopping for a break, don’t be shy - come say g’day 👋

A pedestrian bridge which connected the Ballarat Federation University student accommodation to the rest of the campus was struck by a truck in April last year causing severe damage to the structure.

Waratah Constructions were engaged to undertake the rectification works by fabricating and installing new steel girders and constructing a new concrete deck. We also performed some minor repairs to the existing column abutments and installed an internal perforated balustrade screen to the new bridge.

The bridge deck was finished off with a slip-resistant treatment, and the connection between the student accommodation and University was re-instated.

Waratah Constructions are working together with Apex Earthworks on the Nagambie-Locksley Road Bridge and Road Construction.

The package of works involves road widening and reconstruction as well as culvert replacement works which Apex Earthworks will be completing. Apex Earthworks have engaged us in the removal & reconstruction of the bridge.

So far, we have demolished the existing bridge and prepared the area for piling works. Precast concrete piles have been installed following a site survey.

The existing concrete abutment is getting demolished and the area around the piles are prepared. The extra lengths of the piles will be cut and reinforcement bars will be exposed to provide anchorage into the new abutment.

This will take a few months to complete, so we'll add updates as we're progressing through the project.

Waratah Constructions are getting towards the finishing stages of the Cullens Road Boat Ramp upgrade on the Murray River near Yarrawonga. This project involved lengthening and widening the existing boat ramp.

To undertake this project, we constructed a temporary sheet pile Coffer Dam which creates a barrier and enables us to perform works below the normal water level.

Unfortunately, mid way through the year, the mighty Murray flooded and the river level rose several metres higher than usual, so the project was put on hold for a few months while waiting for the weather to settle down and water levels to drop.

With summer fast approaching and the warmer weather on its way, council asked us if we were able to complete the project before Christmas, so it was all hands on deck and our guys are working hard to complete this project as quickly as possible.
