This day of hands on practical training, designed to follow the theory workshop, will teach you how to mix and install h**pcrete. Exciting strides in sustainable building are happening in Tasmania. Hannan Build (Shane & Tully) have completed a major h**p installation at the University of Tasmania’s Forestry & Timberyards Redevelopment — featuring over 200 m³ of h**p material and 28 circular pods.

The h**p hurd was sourced locally from X-H**p in Cressy, while the lime binder product was provided by Australian H**p Masonry Company, both helping keep material provenance strong and regional.

This build shows what’s possible when local supply chains, dedicated craftsmanship, and sustainable materials come together. It’s a win for innovation, environment, and local jobs.

Henry Ford built a car out of h**p plastic that ran on h**p fuel almost a century ago.
Ford's 1941 bioplastic Model T was made of h**p, flax, wheat, and spruce pulp, which made the car lighter than fiberglass and ten times tougher than steel, wrote the New York Times on February 2, 1941. The car ran on ethanol made from h**p or other agricultural waste.

H**p Building Workshops!
The Australian H**p Masonry Company
Is offering h**p construction training.

The training has two components - a 3 session online theory workshop, which we recommend participants complete first, and a hands on practical workshop which is a day of hands on training learning to mix and install h**pcrete.

Delivered by AHMC founder with over 20 years experience, Klara Marosszeky, the 3 x 2hr theory sessions, teach participants about materials, performance characteristics, design considerations, detailing, BCA compliance, mixing and installing h**pcrete, finishes and making repairs, suitable for for retrofitting and new builds.
