The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) sets the benchmark for defining best practice and universal standards in business among a variety of sectors.

Adam Beckett, National Manager of the Cleaning Division, recently met with clients and staff across our interstate offices to conduct our triennial ISO audit. This audit spanned across seven days, commencing in the Darwin office and followed by two site audits in NSW and a four day desktop audit.

We are thrilled to announce that we have successfully obtained ISO re-certification, highlighting our persistent efforts in maintaining and promoting reliable quality in work processes across all three areas of quality, environment and safety.

We would like to extend a big thank you to the Cleaning Division on achieving this, particularly Joan Jane Lizada, Brian Lizada and Amanda Virgona for the presentation and quality of the sites audited.

04 August is National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day!

National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day is held every year on this day and is an opportunity for the community to celebrate First Nation children.

Across the country, mob will be hosting and attending events dedicated to children, culture, family and community. National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day was first celebrated in 1988 to recognise the many Aboriginal children in orphanages and institutions who did not know their date of birth. 04 August became ā€˜Children’s Day’ to commemorate and celebrate the birthday of these children.

This year’s theme centres on ā€œStrong in Culture, Stronger Togetherā€, reinforcing our ongoing commitment in supporting the wellbeing of our next generation as well as fostering opportunities and pathways of success for children and young people.

Last week the PSG Holdings Maintenance Division organised a team golf day to kick off the start of the new financial year and to celebrate NAIDOC week.

From the leafy fairways to the friendly competition, the team enjoyed a day filled with laughter, connection and golf swings working their way through the course on the greens!

It was a refreshing day for the team to unwind from the technicalities of their work and soak in the perfect weather and company. The time together made for a memorable day on the course in celebrating recent tender wins and entering the new financial year with inspiration and opportunity.

The ACT and NSW Construction Teams gathered together in Canberra last week to mark the start of the new financial year. This was an excellent opportunity to reflect on recent achievements and to discuss upcoming opportunities and new projects on the horizon.

Given the interstate locations of the PSGH construction division, this event allowed for connection, celebration and inspiration, marking it as a particularly noteworthy occasion!

Over a delicious Italian feast, we introduced new members of both the NSW and ACT construction team whilst recognising the significant accomplishments of the division as a whole.

Onwards and upwards!

The PSG Holdings team converged on Canberra last week to participate in a NAIDOC inspired weaving workshop, facilitated by Ronnie Jordan, a Kalkadoon Pitta Pitta woman and owner of ā€˜Culture on the Move’ a creative arts and cultural business.

In celebration of NAIDOC Week, it was a privilege to be able to learn of the traditional use of natural fibres and great to come together to learn the cultural significance of weaving practices as a way to share knowledge and connect to people and country. Participating in this workshop has helped us build greater understanding of the community and honour the heritage and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

PSG Holdings’ footprint in the ACT has expanded in recent times, seeing us strengthen our capability and providing the opportunity to showcase our skill and versatility in the delivery of varied projects.

We are delighted to share that we have been awarded the project for the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) at Old Parliament House in Canberra. Our ACT Construction Team will be the lead Managing Contractor on this heritage listed building, which holds significant value in preserving the history of our country and marking its place as a beacon of democracy.

This project will see us continue with a successful track record of providing key construction works for well-regarded government clients, along with the enhancement of historical infrastructure. Its anticipated duration is approximately 2-3 years, which will boost local economy and offer employment opportunities for the community.

We look forward to initiating the early construction phases in the next few weeks and sharing project progress updates in the coming months.

The PSG team took a break from the hard hats on this crisp Autumnal morning to join a cultural session at the Kimberwalli Centre in Whalan, NSW to kick off National Reconciliation Week. The meeting was guided by Indigenous Dharug custodians, Lex Dadd and Corina Norman-Dadd from Bhayala Dharug Dhalang.

The enriching session explored the local traditions and rich heritage of the local Dharug people in Western Sydney and shared invaluable insights and cultural knowledge.

Our time at Kimberwalli not only broadened our understanding but strengthened our commitment to respecting and integrating cultural values into our workplace.

We would like to extend our appreciation to Corina and Lex for welcoming us and facilitating such an engaging and impactful session for our team and stakeholders.

šŸŽˆšŸŽ‰Our Maintenance Division celebrates turning 4!

Last week marks the Maintenance Division’s 4-year milestone since its establishment as an additional service area for PSG Holdings.

Since its early beginnings, the Maintenance Division has grown from leading small-scale works to being a highly experienced division with unique expertise in servicing our remote Indigenous communities across Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

The team enjoyed a celebratory birthday lunch to observe this milestone and to reflect on their achievements over the last 4 years.

Well done team! Here’s to many more years of success and growth for our Maintenance Division!
