Prep decides how long a membrane lasts.

On this job we primed the substrate with Bayset WPA 460 Primer, then applied Bayset WPA 992 to the manufacturer’s specified film thickness. The primer is what makes the membrane bond. The film thickness is what makes it perform.

Horizontal and vertical sheets, torched and lapped into one continuous below-ground barrier. Tanking has to be right the first time, because repairs later on will cost as much as double or triple of the price

Anchor fixings driven straight through a dead flat metal pan, then sealed over. Every fixing a hole, every hole a leak.
This one didn’t need a patch, it needed rebuilding. And instead of a screed, the client went with a tapered board system.

Old pan and flashings stripped. Substrate ground back, primed and sealed. Vapour barrier membrane bonded over the full deck, under the insulation, so moisture from inside can’t get up into the boards. Then tapered boards bonded down on adhesive beads, no mechanical fixings, so nothing new goes through the roof. Boards cut to a tapered plan so the whole deck falls to the outlet. Sheet membrane over the lot and up every upstand as one continuous.
Lighter than screed, no wet trade sitting in the middle of your program, and the fall is set by the layout plan instead of how well someone screeds on the day.

Tanking a residential retaining wall in Brisbane.

Soprema Colphene 3000: self-adhesive SBS modified bitumen, cold-applied, every lap rolled and sealed. WPA 100 cementitious membrane to the side walls, Class I to AS/NZS 4858, positive and negative side. Drainage cell over the lot before backfill.

You get one shot at below-ground. Once it’s buried, it’s buried.

Sheet-applied butyl rubber to the floor, liquid membrane to the walls and hobs, bond breakers at every wall-to-floor junction and every pe*******on dressed and sealed before the tiler comes near it.

AS 3740 compliant, photographed and documented for the file. Builders get the record, not just the invoice.

Sarnafil sits alongside torch-on and liquid systems in our membrane roofing scope. We spec to the substrate, the falls and the exposure, not to what installs fastest.

Cove joint, below slab level. Reinforcing tape bedded into the fillet, then over coated.

System here is WPA 100, a fibre reinforced cementitious membrane rated for both positive and negative side application, run with Elastoband SG through the junctions. Two coats, second at right angles to the first, wet film gauge checked as we go.
That last part is what separates a membrane that performs from one that just looks applied. Film thickness is measured, not estimated.
