Latest job for Dragon Lair. I needed to retrofit a dual phase to three phase inverter for a property in the country. The only part of the freezer that needed the inverter was the compressor so it took a little rewiring to get it to work. Thanks to Rob at WEG Melbourne for help commissioning the unit and to Delta electric in Phillip for advice and supply of the unit.

Renting? Call Dragon Lair in to install an extra layer of insulation over the top of your duct work. This reduces heat escaping back into the room as it snakes it way to the window. I can also seal up around the window to ensure a more air tight barrier to the outside. I can lengthen the duct work a little to place the unit in a better position.

I doesn't come with a battery but is pretty easy to find at a budget store. I bought a multi-size pack from a bargain store that has fitted batteries to all kinds of things I never expected to need them for. The only gripe I have with this one was getting the battery to contact the points inside the case well enough for it to work. I fiddled with it and it works consistently now. I tested it on a fan heater and it works at a low flow rate and it also measures temperature. I didn't even consider this when I ordered it and for me is an added bonus.

I was called to replace an air conditioner in a working tower crane. My boss told me he had asked 3 other guys if they wanted to do the job and they had all turned it down. How many times do you get to work on a tower crane I asked myself? The guy didn't even stop working while I changed over his air conditioner 100 metres above a busy building site.
