EUCA | EXTERIOR MATERIALS
A balance of strength, texture and natural materials.
At EUCA, the exterior brings together off-form concrete, timber and expansive glass, each playing a different role in the home’s architectural design.

The weight of the concrete contrasts with the warmth of the timber, while large glass openings create a connection between the home and its coastal surroundings.

Beyond their appearance, material selections were also influenced by the demands of building on North Stradbroke Island, with durability and strict bushfire requirements playing an important role throughout the process.

EUCA | THE FINAL CHAPTER
Three years in the making, and a project that will stay with the AMD team for a long time.

Building on North Stradbroke Island brought its own set of challenges. From navigating the logistics of an island build to meeting strict flame zone requirements, every stage demanded a different level of planning, problem-solving and workmanship.

The result is something we’re incredibly proud of. Off-form concrete, intricate carpentry, expansive glass walls and a cantilevered pool that has become one of the home’s defining features.

But beyond the architecture, EUCA represents the people behind it. The commitment of our team, the trades and everyone who contributed over the past three years is what made this project possible.

After 26 years in the industry, projects like EUCA remind us just how much can be achieved with the right people behind the build.

ACTION AT BLANCA
Plenty happening across Blanca right now.

The team is keeping materials moving for the blocklayers, assisting with waterproofing prep and getting areas ready for the next stages of work.

Around the pool, trenches are being dug for plumbing and skimmer boxes ahead of the footing pour, while steel continues to be cut and installed through the blockwork.

EUCA is complete.

Off-form concrete, a cantilevered pool we ended up building ourselves, timber ceilings, glass walls, and a site so sandy we had to buy new gear just to get concrete up the hill.

Four years with AMD, but Trent’s history with the team goes back a little further, having completed his apprenticeship alongside AMD Director, Aaron.

Now working as a Project Manager, his days are busy from the moment he steps on site. In his words, it can feel a bit like being a kindergarten teacher, everyone needs something, and usually all at once.

It’s the building process that keeps him interested. Being able to look back years later at a project that still functions as it should and knowing the work behind it was done properly is something he takes plenty of pride in.

For Trent, AMD is also about the people, a team that works hard but still knows how to have a good time along the way.

And when tools are required, Milwaukee is the pick.

YARRONG RD | DEMOLITION UNDERWAY
The next chapter at Yarrong Rd is underway.

Following the decision to move away from the original renovation approach, demolition has commenced, taking the existing structure back to the garage slab and lower level that will remain.
From here, the team can begin rebuilding upward with a new structure, while holding onto the original vision for the property.

A significant stage for Yarrong Rd and the start of a very different transformation.

COMO has been recognised at the 2026 Master Builders Brisbane Housing & Construction Awards, taking home the award for Medium Density up to 3 Storeys – Over 5 Dwellings.

From the curved balconies and considered material palette to the entry sequence and details throughout, COMO was a project that demanded a high level of ex*****on from start to finish.

MEET JACK

Three years with AMD and plenty of builds along the way.
For Jack, becoming a chippy came from something pretty simple, he enjoys building things. Today, that means working across different stages on site, preparing areas for trades and helping keep each project moving.

What he enjoys most is being there from start to finish and seeing the work the team has put in become a completed project.
A good crew and a strong culture make the job even better.

And the tool brand of choice? Milwaukee.
