Lovely big swarm in Metcalfe yesterday. Had been out in the rain for a couple of days, the people who reported it put a box over them, which was very nice. Still though, they were pleased to crawl into their new home.

Bees seem to love nest boxes. Here is one that I removed that absolutely chockas. The process for dealing with a situation like this is to rehome the bees, clean out the comb, candle any leftover wax, add a few bee deterrents. Then, it's ready to go back up to be a home for a parrot or a possum.

My favourite customer yet, Julie, had a hive of bees in her wall. A bit of a tricky one as we wanted to preserve the original exterior cladding. We were able to locate the hive with thermals and go in through the plaster.
