Scarr Street Works Progression 🚧

Stage 2 – Most of underground works are now complete, with the exception of the crossing in front of Australia Post at the end of Scarr Street. This is expected to be finalised by the end of the week, allowing the road to reopen on the Central Hotel side, with a shoulder closure remaining on the Australia Post side. Final trimming works will commence Monday in preparation for handover to Auzscott for concrete works.

Stage 3 – Following the installation of fencing yesterday (30/06/26), demolition works are scheduled to commence this week. Driveway access will remain open, as previously advised.

Traffic Management Updates:
Due to sewer rework activities, the area near the Central Hotel and Australia Post will be temporarily closed for a few days. This is not expected to
significantly impact traffic, as a nearby turnaround option will remain available.

Overall, the project is progressing well, and we appreciate your continued patience and cooperation.

Durack has exciting news regarding works progression. 🚧

Stage 1 has been handed over to Auzscott, a local subcontractor delivering the concrete works since last Friday. We are very excited to see footpath construction commencing as this stage moves into its final phase.

For Stage 2, stormwater installation is continuing, with excavations reaching depths of approximately 3.2 metres. Searles Plumbing is doing a great job completing these works within a very tight space.

ANZAC Day
Please note there will be no construction works this weekend due to ANZAC Day. Durack Civil is supporting Cloncurry Shire Council by providing traffic management and road closures from 5:00 am to 11:00 am to help ensure a safe and respectful day.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Exciting news — we’re finally heading into Stage 2! 🚧

With Stage 1 entering its final phase, Auzscott will be taking over for concrete works.

For Stage 2, fencing was installed yesterday for part of the area, and works are planned to commence shortly after Easter.

Following the same approach as Stage 1, works will begin with underground services, including stormwater, water main, comms, electrical and irrigation. This will then be followed by concrete works also undertaken by Auzscott.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and cooperation.
