I have noticed Facebook has had a lot of advertising for cheap ac installs lately. These installs have some terms and conditions attached, which is all good. Mainly back to back and at the moment subject to manufacturer’s cash rebates.

I had a call yesterday about installing an ac unit, not a regular customer. After a bit of time I worked out the work had already been done and she was after information, to go back to the installer with, about a promotion cash rebate that it looks like she was not elegable for.

Generally the rebates are not available for business purposes, only domestic installations. Purchases through trusts, companies, realistate agents are not eligible for rebates.

Got an electric scooter or bike for Christmas or to commute to school or work this year? Here are some tips to keep them electrically safe.

🔋 Use the charger specified by the scooter or bike manufacturer and always buy from a reputable, Australian seller

🔋 Let batteries cool down before re-charging – high temperatures can shorten their lifespan and increase the risk of fire

🔋 Ensure your batteries aren’t getting knocked around or damaged when in use or in storage – this can increase the risk of fire

🔋 Always charge your scooter or bike away from combustible materials like paper, clothes, furniture and curtains

🔋 Always unplug your charger once your scooter or bike has finished charging

🔋 Don’t leave charging batteries unattended or charging overnight

🔋Install interconnected smoke alarms where your scooter or bike is charged

Quick job that could of been worse for the customer. Customer was unable to reset their light circuit breaker. The feed to the bottom of the breaker was still live and cooking.

Beginnings of a lighting installation. Top floor of an apartment block. Narrow stairwells for the scaffolding to be taken up, even before assembling it around benches. The lights are the old ones.

Another interesting smoke detector install, not by me. Found while doing a complex lighting install.
1. Wired smoke detectors are required to be replaced with wired smoke detectors.
2. Worse the wiring has been removed, taped up and left with no junction box in the easily accessible roof cavity.
