These skylights are doing exactly what they should, flooding the room with natural light throughout the day. The seamless transition between the existing lower level and the new upper floor is something we take a lot of pride in on a project like this. It's one thing to add a second storey. It's another to make it read as one cohesive home from the street and throughout the interior.

The tie in work between old and new is where the building demands the most precision. The roofline, the facade, the internal flow between levels. Every decision has to be considered with the whole home in mind, not just the new addition in isolation.

Bright, fresh, and elevated above everything below. The natural light that comes into a second storey bedroom is something you have to experience to fully appreciate. It changes how the room feels throughout the day and makes a real difference to how the space lives.

The work that goes into a room like this starts long before the walls go up. The structural addition, the framing, the insulation, the finishes throughout all have to be executed to a consistent standard for the finished space to feel the way it does.

A well executed ensuite comes down to the detail and this one has it throughout.

Clean lines, fresh finishes, and everything sitting exactly where it should. A bathroom like this looks simple but simple is hard to build well. The tiling has to be set out correctly from the start, the waterproofing done properly behind every surface, the fixtures installed level and true. When all of that comes together the result feels effortless.

There is a lot of work behind these walls that you will never see, and that's exactly the point. The finished product is only as good as what's holding it up underneath.

Communication is something we talk about a lot, because we've seen firsthand what happens when it breaks down on a building project.

Delays, unexpected costs, decisions made without the client being properly informed. Most of the frustration people experience during a renovation comes back to communication somewhere along the line.

From the moment we're engaged on a project, our clients have direct access to us. Regular updates, honest conversations when something comes up, and solutions on the table before problems become bigger than they need to be. We don't wait for our clients to chase us down for information.
