Busy day in the workshop yesterday with two machines back up and running.
Had an AC/DC TIG and a MIG on the bench this week both fully diagnosed, repaired, and weld-tested ready for pickup.
The TIG had no gas flow at the torch customer thought it was a faulty solenoid, but it turned out to be a manufacturing defect (blocked gas port) in a brand new torch. It also had some display wiring issues and was way out of calibration from a previous repair attempt.
The MIG was more straightforward we replaced a faulty gas solenoid with an updated valve and a quick connect fitting.
These older units might have a mountain of wires inside, but they’re built well honestly better than a lot of the modern inverters you see now. Definitely worth saving.
