⚠️TYPHOON WARNING NORTH WEST PACIFIC: Tropical Storm Dolphin could very quickly and easily become the strongest storm on the planet so far in 2026 - even stronger than Super Typhoon Sinlaku in April!
👉TS Dolphin is currently located North East of Marshall Islands moving towards the North West. It is forecast to reach a category 1 strength cyclone / typhoon by tonight.
🔴The system will enter a very favourable ocean and atmospheric environment during Wednesday. A period of Rapid Intensification is expected to commence during Wednesday. This is likely to be followed by an extended time frame of exceptionally warm sea surface temperatures and very low vertical wind shear fuelling near-extreme rapid intensification during Thursday & Friday.
🔴Dolphin has the potential to develop from a category 1 to high end category 5 (Super Typhoon) within a 24-36hr time frame.
Global numerical forecast models are already suggesting a peak intensity around 900hPa with wind gusts over 300km/h. Hurricane models and dvorak satellite intensity estimates could provide data of sub 890hPa and wind gusts near 325km/h.
🔴After achieving maximum strength, the system will eventually undergo 1 or more eye wall replacement cycles which will disrupt the inner core along with intensity fluctuations during Saturday & Sunday.
⚠️At this stage the very dangerous storm is forecast to pass well away to the North East of the Marina Islands. There is an elevated risk on extended track guidance that Typhoon Dolphin could directly impact Japans Bonin Islands early to mid next week.
