Thanks to the attendees from the 2026 Toowoomba and Surat Basin Energy Summit for taking the time to visit Wambo Wind Farm last week.

The tour provided an opportunity for the group to hear about progress on site and discuss the project's role in supporting Queensland's future energy needs. Visitors also heard about the work being undertaken with local stakeholders and the benefits to the region and initiatives being delivered through our community investment programs.

We appreciate the opportunity to connect with community members, industry representatives and other stakeholders, and to share firsthand insight into the project as it moves through construction.

Shared conversations over a cuppa and breakfast are making a real difference in Bell.

Every month, local men from Bell and the surrounding districts are gathering to share a meal, build a support network and stay connected.

Led by the Bell Health and Wellbeing Subcommittee, and run by men, for men, the monthly breakfasts are helping break through the social isolation many men in rural and farming community experience and creating a welcoming space to talk openly about mental health, wellbeing and the importance of reaching out when help is needed.

Last weekend, Matt and Tom from the Wambo Wind Farm team joined in for a morning of conversation, connection and camaraderie - a reminder that meaningful support can start with something as simple as sharing a meal together and knowing you’re not alone.

Traffic management update

As construction at Wambo Wind Farm continues, there will be a temporary increase in heavy vehicle movements on surrounding local roads.

From Monday to Friday, between 20 June and mid-September 2026, project vehicles will use the approved roads outlined in the transportation route developed with Western Downs Regional Council.

We value road safety and take the behaviour of our contractors and drivers seriously. We encourage you contact us on 1800 490 475 to report any unsafe driving or other concerns.

Got a big idea for your community? We want to hear from you!

Wambo Wind Farm’s Community Benefit Fund is opening a bumper 2026 round, this time with up to $200,000 in funding up for grabs.

Building on the Jandowae Community Plan, the idea is to bring larger-scale projects to life. We want to back bigger ideas that matter most to the community.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the plan and shared their vision to guide the future of Jandowae.

Now it’s time to apply!

We’re looking for projects that promote community sustainability, connectivity, health and wellbeing and strength and resilience across the Western Downs.

From schools and community centres to social support programs, more than $550,000 has already been invested locally since construction begun through the Community Benefit Fund and year-round Community Sponsorship Program.
