A wonderful morning yesterday celebrating the launch of the Jandowae Community Plan and catching up with many of the community and industry leaders we’ve had the privilege of working alongside throughout the Wambo Wind Farm journey.

The plan is a community-led initiative we’re proud to have supported. It's the culmination of months of hard work by local volunteers, groups and residents who generously shared their time, ideas and local knowledge to help shape a shared vision for Jandowae’s future. We’re delighted that it’s now in the hands of the community and who will help bring its vision to life.

It was also a great opportunity for Wambo's joint venture owners, Stanwell and Cubico, to share the latest project updates as Wambo Wind Farm transitions from construction phase into full operations, supporting Queensland's future energy needs. The project recently reached a significant milestone, with the last of 83 turbines now installed. This reflects the scale of work undertaken since construction of the first Stage 1 turbines began in October 2024.

As Wambo Wind Farm moves into its next chapter, we’re proud to continue delivering lasting benefits for the region, supporting community-led priorities and helping create a positive legacy that will last long after construction is complete.

What a wonderful morning celebrating the completion of the Jandowae Progress and Heritage Association's heritage display, a project we're very proud to have supported through our Community Benefit Fund.

The display at the Athlone Cottage Heritage Precinct brings Jandowae's rich history to life through the stories of local families and businesses that have helped shape the town and surrounding region over generations.

One of the highlights is the remarkable story of 'The Little Digger', a French boy who was adopted by members of the Australian Flying Corps during World War 1 and later brought back to a new home in Jandowae, where his story remains an important part of the town's history.

Whether you're a local or just passing through, we’d encourage you to reach out to the Jandowae Progress and Heritage Association to arrange a visit to Athlone Cottage and discover the people, stories and moments that helped make Jandowae what it is today.

Seven local community groups are set to deliver projects that will make a lasting impact across Bell and Jandowae, with support from Wambo Wind Farm’s Community Benefit Fund bumper round. 🎉

A total of $200,000 will support projects at:
- Bell Bunya Community Centre
- Bell Memorial Public Hall Inc.
- Jandowae Bowls Club
- Jandowae Campdraft Association
- Jandowae Golf Club
- Jandowae Memorial Hall
- Queensland Country Women’s Association (Jinghi Valley branch).

From kitchen renovations and electrical improvements to new technology, these projects will improve local halls, clubhouses and community spaces, the places where people come together, connect and support one another.

At the heart of many of these organisations are dedicated volunteers who generously give their time, skills and care to support their communities. We’re proud to back their efforts and help strengthen the local facilities that play such an important role across Bell, Jandowae and surrounding communities.

Thanks to the attendees from the 2026 Toowoomba and Surat Basin Energy Summit for taking the time to visit Wambo Wind Farm last week.

The tour provided an opportunity for the group to hear about progress on site and discuss the project's role in supporting Queensland's future energy needs. Visitors also heard about the work being undertaken with local stakeholders and the benefits to the region and initiatives being delivered through our community investment programs.

We appreciate the opportunity to connect with community members, industry representatives and other stakeholders, and to share firsthand insight into the project as it moves through construction.

Shared conversations over a cuppa and breakfast are making a real difference in Bell.

Every month, local men from Bell and the surrounding districts are gathering to share a meal, build a support network and stay connected.

Led by the Bell Health and Wellbeing Subcommittee, and run by men, for men, the monthly breakfasts are helping break through the social isolation many men in rural and farming community experience and creating a welcoming space to talk openly about mental health, wellbeing and the importance of reaching out when help is needed.

Last weekend, Matt and Tom from the Wambo Wind Farm team joined in for a morning of conversation, connection and camaraderie - a reminder that meaningful support can start with something as simple as sharing a meal together and knowing you’re not alone.

Traffic management update

As construction at Wambo Wind Farm continues, there will be a temporary increase in heavy vehicle movements on surrounding local roads.

From Monday to Friday, between 20 June and mid-September 2026, project vehicles will use the approved roads outlined in the transportation route developed with Western Downs Regional Council.

We value road safety and take the behaviour of our contractors and drivers seriously. We encourage you contact us on 1800 490 475 to report any unsafe driving or other concerns.
