Great to catch up with WA Government representative Phil Gorey in Japan today, to discuss our decarbonisation plans and the opportunities ahead at the Japan CCUS Summit.
It’s encouraging to see the shared interest in practical solutions that reduce emissions while supporting a strong industrial future for the Pilbara. We appreciate the State Government’s continued engagement with Yara and the work of its team in Japan in building relationships that can help turn these opportunities into lasting benefits for Western Australia.

At Yara Pilbara, we are proud to support local students as they pursue their academic and career aspirations through the Yara Pilbara Academic Excellence Scholarship, helping them build the skills and knowledge needed for future success throughout their university journey.

We are delighted to recognise Charlie, who will commence a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) (Honours) and Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) at Curtin University following his gap year, and to Brian, who is currently studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) at The University of Western Australia.

Congratulations to Charlie and Brian on these achievements. We wish them every success and look forward to following their progress.

Yara Pilbara was pleased to join our Yara Australia colleagues at the recent Fertilizer Australia Conference in Perth, connecting with the people and businesses helping shape the future of Australian agriculture.

Attending together highlighted the breadth of our contribution. From the industrial capability and expertise behind ammonia production in the Pilbara, through to the finished fertilisers, crop nutrition knowledge and practical support that Yara Australia brings to Australian growers.

While our teams work in very different settings, we are connected by the same purpose. Ammonia is a key building block for nitrogen fertilisers, linking the work undertaken at our industrial facilities with the nutrients that support healthy crops, productive farms and the food we all depend on.

Thank you to the Equus Energy team and their investor delegation for visiting Yara Pilbara and taking the time to learn more about our operations.

As Equus progresses the development of gas resources off Western Australia’s coast, we appreciated the opportunity to share a manufacturer’s perspective on the need for additional, reliable and competitively priced domestic gas.

We value these constructive conversations between prospective gas suppliers, investors and the opportunity to highlight what secure energy supplies mean for Australian manufacturing.

Yara Pilbara welcomed the opportunity to contribute to the Energy in WA Conference, where our COO Laurent Trost shared our perspective on manufacturing competitiveness and the energy transition.

His remarks highlighted the importance of practical, commercially viable solutions that strengthen Australia’s industrial capability while reducing emissions. These ambitions need to progress together supporting the manufacturers we depend on today while creating opportunities for a lower emissions future.

It was a pleasure to welcome our Japanese customers from Kyushu Electric to Yara Pilbara and provide an opportunity to see our operations firsthand.

Japan remains an important market and partner for Yara, and visits such as this provide a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships, share perspectives and explore how we can work together toward a lower carbon future.

As Yara Pilbara continues to progress its decarbonisation pathway, including opportunities around low carbon ammonia, hydrogen and carbon capture and storage, collaboration with customers will be critical to developing practical and commercially sustainable solutions.

Thank you to the Kyushu team for making the journey to the Pilbara and for the open and constructive discussions. We look forward to continuing the relationship and exploring the opportunities ahead for collaboration between Australia and Japan in support of a decarbonised future.

A sincere thank you to the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia for bringing a large group of media representatives to visit Yara Pilbara today.

The visit provided an opportunity to share more about our operations, the important role they play in supporting Western Australian industry, and our pathway towards lower carbon production through initiatives such as renewable hydrogen and carbon capture and storage.

CMEWA is a strong and constructive advocate for Western Australia’s hard to abate industries, and visits such as this help build a deeper understanding of both the challenges and opportunities involved in decarbonising established industrial operations.

It was a privilege to welcome senior representatives of the Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation to Yara Pilbara for a tour of our operations.
The visit provided an important opportunity to share more about our facilities, discuss our activities on Murujuga and, most importantly, listen to the perspectives and knowledge of the Traditional Custodians of this remarkable place.
Yara deeply values its relationship with MAC and is committed to continuing to build that as we work together into the future.
