The boys are back open 🥩🍗🥓🍖
This is a long one, but worth the read - we promise!
The flood knocked us hard—but thanks to the incredible people around us, we’ve picked ourselves up, washed out the mud and K & J Superior Meats is officially back open for business from 8am tomorrow. And now, it’s time to say some very big thank-yous.
First of all, Nico Nic Hughes - the best employee a business could ever ask for. A total workhorse. Always shows up, always ready to help, always positive. We are so lucky to have you on the team.
To the mate that everyone wishes they had - Josh Ball and Linc from
Balls Earthmoving. Bally - you are the guy that just gets stuff done - never wanting a thank you, but you literally saved our machinery from being totalled!
Jason Smith, Tommy and Logan from JBS Electrical Maintenance —what you guys have done over the past four days is nothing short of incredible. You’ve been in the thick of it with us, and we honestly can’t thank you enough.
Shaun McNamara and the team MCN Refrigeration & Air Conditioning —Macca, you stood by us when things were uncertain. You told us to wait, and you were right. Your support and calm guidance meant the world.
Cade Fuller and his Team Macleay Electrical Services Thanks for coming and jumping straight in and working alongside Jase Smith - you guys are the dream team!
Carlos Peters—what you’ve done this week is unbelievable. As the liaison between the landlord for the plaza and all of our businesses, you’ve been there for every one of us. You even had your staff from Stone Real Estate Kempsey help clean. Truly amazing.
Hot N Tasty Bakery Mick and Renee Hughes , Sonya Murphy, Josh and Caity, Kimberley and Nico, Joel and Amy - you’re more than just neighbours, you’re family. Your support, encouragement, and just being there… thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Michael Kemp and the absolute legend Team at Keystone Health - Kempy, you’re juggling multiple roles and still showed up for everyone. Champion effort. And Janelle Conomos—she’s worth a million bucks!
Dom and family Bruno's Pizza & Cafe - Dom, we know you’re going through a rough time right next door, but you still found time to check in on us. That kind of kindness means everything.
Mark Beatson and your Team - Anytime Fitness Kempsey you suffered such a huge loss, but still found time to check on us and offer support! Cheers mate!
Braden, Talisa and Chris Horne from Kempsey Carpet Court - real blood family - thank you so much for your support and equipment, plus all you guys did for all the surrounding CBD businesses!
Rohan, Jodie and family from Central Kempsey IGA
Even before you guys could obtain access to your shop, before we all saw the devastation, you rallied behind all of us in the plaza and offered support. We are all devastated for you, and will support you and your business!
Dave and Darlene from Haywoods Landscape Supplies
Thanks for the fan and generator that dried out the motors of our display cabinets - without you guys we would be nowhere near ready to open!
