At Boost Design, product development is a team effort.

Our team brings together electronics, mechanical, firmware and software engineers, industrial designers, scientists and commercial specialists to work through every part of the process.

From the first idea through to testing, development and production, each discipline brings a different perspective to the project.

If you’re developing a new product, we can help you work through the process from start to finish.

Investors rarely get all their questions answered at the very start of a new product journey.

Those answers are built through the development process, by testing assumptions, identifying risks, understanding the market, and gathering evidence that the product could become a viable business.

As that evidence grows, so does confidence in the project. That’s why funding and product development often need to progress together, with each stage helping justify the next investment.

When you're building connected hardware, choosing the right communication method matters.

Some technologies are built for speed.

Others are built for distance and efficiency.

Confidence is built step by step throughout the development journey.

The Boost Method delivers a clear project roadmap, helps reduce uncertainty, minimises risk, and supports better decisions at every stage.

That gives everyone involved, from the internal team to investors, customers, and manufacturing partners, greater confidence in the direction of the product.

Successful product development demands continuous alignment between the commercial goals and the technical ex*****on.

Without clear communication, important details can be lost between the original idea, engineering decisions, and manufacturing. That can lead to unnecessary redesigns, delays and additional costs later in the project.

Our project managers ensure everyone remains focused on the same outcome, from the first client conversation through to production.

Designing for normal operation is only one part of product development. You also need to consider how the product responds when something does not go to plan, whether that is a disconnected sensor, a critically low battery, a lost internet connection, a jammed motor or incorrect user input.

The way a product handles these faults can be just as important as how it performs under normal conditions. Depending on the application, that might mean shutting down safely, providing a clear warning, storing diagnostic information or continuing to operate in a fail-safe mode.

True product reliability is built into system architecture from day one.

Funding a new product starts with making the idea worth investing in.

That means being able to clearly explain the problem it solves, who it is for, why it is different, and how it could become a viable product.

A strong concept, backed by technical validation, prototyping, and a clear path to market, gives investors or funding partners the confidence to commit.

Not every component in a new product needs to be designed as a custom solution.

Sometimes an existing sensor, power supply, enclosure, communications module, or mechanical component can easily satisfy the functional requirements. Using proven off-the-shelf technology where appropriate can reduce development time, technical risk, and tooling costs.

Custom engineering makes the most sense where it gives the product a genuine advantage or where existing solutions simply cannot meet the requirements.

The goal is to focus engineering efforts where they create true commercial value.

Before you know how much a hardware product will cost, you need to understand what actually needs to be built.

The exploration stage helps define the product, customers, commercial requirements, technical challenges, certification needs, and testing requirements before the scope is locked in.

That early clarity makes the next stage easier to plan and helps reduce costly surprises later.
