Pt. Roadknight // The project involved the alteration and addition of an original mid century beach
house in Anglesea on Victoria’s surf coast.

Our clients loved the original house, yet wanted us to ‘open the space up to the
view’ - the view being an established garden of Moonah trees

This lead to a redesign of the original windows (reducing the visible bulk of the
framing) and reconstruction of the roof - raising the ceiling height slightly, a small
change with significant impacts on the experience of the space.

The spirit of the original house is still directly evident in the new dwelling.Elements such as the original spacing of the exposed trusses and windows set the rhythm of the new additions, and were essential to ensure that we didn’t stray too far from the original.
