The NSW Independent Planning Commission today approved the Dinawan Solar Farm – an 800 MW solar project with 1,574 MWh of battery storage.

This is a major step forward for the Dinawan Energy Hub in the South West Renewable Energy Zone.

This milestone reflects several years of detailed project development, underpinned by strong engagement with the local community, stakeholders and government.

The Dinawan Energy Hub will play an important role in supporting grid stability and long-term energy security in NSW, while delivering real regional benefits - including jobs, investment, and long-term opportunities.

With the solar farm now approved, we look forward to the upcoming determination of the Dinawan Wind Farm and progressing the full Dinawan Energy Hub toward delivery.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and provided feedback along the way.

Spark Renewables is inviting expressions of interest (EOI) from prospective project partners to deliver the Accommodation Village at our Dinawan Energy Hub ➡️

We’re inviting key suppliers to design, deliver and operate the Accommodation Village to support the construction workforce for the Dinawan Energy Hub - a wind-solar-BESS hybrid project in the South West Renewable Energy Zone based between Coleambally and Jerilderie in NSW.

The village will comprise 400 beds, high-quality facilities including ensuite rooms, dining, wellbeing spaces, gyms and social hubs to create a vibrant and comfortable place to live throughout the project delivery.

We’re seeking innovative and sustainable proposals that not only support construction needs but also deliver lasting social value in the region. Meaningful opportunities for local businesses and workforce pathways are central to this package.

🗓 EOI submissions are open until 16 February 2026. Find out more details at: https://sparkrenewables.com/dinawan-news/dinawan-energy-hub-accommodation-village-expressions-of-interest/
