Flood resilience starts with smart design!

In flood-prone areas, protecting critical infrastructure like traffic signal controllers is essential for maintaining safety and minimising downtime.
This installation highlights a simple but highly effective approach: elevating the controller cabinets above ground level. By raising the units on a concrete plinth, we significantly reduce the risk of water ingress during heavy rainfall or flooding events.

It’s also a great example of the kind of technical detail in our work that often goes unnoticed. Small design choices like this play a critical role behind the scenes, and we’re always looking for ways to help people better understand the engineering that keeps our transport networks running.
Proud to be delivering practical solutions that keep our roads safer and more resilient.

Investing in our people is one of the most important things we do as a business.
Recently, one of our riggers and dogmen took part in off-site training, continuing to build the skills that keep our projects safe, efficient, and delivered to a high standard. From lifting operations to equipment handling, hands-on training like this ensures our team stays sharp and confident in the field.
We believe that ongoing development isn’t just a box to tick, it’s a commitment. A commitment to safety, to quality, and to giving our team the tools they need to succeed.
Proud to see our crew putting in the work and continuously improving.

Not all progress is visible above ground.

These photos from our Burwood site capture a critical stage in delivering new traffic signal infrastructure — service identification. Every coloured marking you see represents existing underground assets: power, communications, water, gas, and more.

Before we can install our conduits beneath the road and footpath, we need to fully understand what’s already there. And as you can see… space is at a premium.

This shift was dedicated to mapping and verifying services — and it’s safe to say, we found plenty. It’s a strong reminder of how complex urban environments really are beneath the surface.

Careful planning at this stage helps us:
✔ Avoid service strikes
✔ Minimise disruptions
✔ Deliver safer, more efficient installations

A lot of work goes into the groundwork before anything new is built.
Proud of the team for their attention to detail and commitment to doing it right.

Great to see progress on TCS 3567 at the intersection of Great Northern Rd, Borrowdale Way & Greenwood Parkway in Cranebrook.
Our crews are currently undertaking a reconstruction of the existing traffic signals, with works focused on upgrading infrastructure and improving the overall efficiency of the intersection.
Once completed, the upgraded signal layout will help enhance traffic flow and provide a more reliable intersection for motorists and pedestrians in the area.
A big thank you to the crews on site for their continued work and commitment to delivering the project safely and efficiently. Looking forward to sharing further updates as the project progresses.
