At Autosmart, this structural steel was designed to help reduce roof deflection, helping maintain the required clearance for the sprinkler pipework below 🔩

It’s one of the many details that needs to be considered when structure and building services come together — and a good example of how much goes into making an industrial facility work as it should.

MEET THE TEAM | JAKE

Behind every successful project are the people keeping things moving on site, and Jake has been doing exactly that with Chappell Building Systems for the past 11 years.

As our Construction Manager, Jake oversees site operations across our builds, coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules and ensuring the quality of work remains at the standard we expect from start to finish.

Having been with Chappell since the early days, Jake brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to every project and is someone our team, subcontractors and clients know they can rely on.

After 11 years as part of the Chappell team, it’s fair to say Jake has played a pretty big part in getting us to where we are today 🏗️👏🏼

A new home for Autosmart Australia in Rathmines.

After continued growth saw the business operating across five separate premises, this new purpose-built warehouse and office brings the team and operations together under one roof — with plenty of room for what comes next 🔩

The new facility provides Autosmart with a more efficient way to operate day-to-day, while giving the business the space it needed to continue growing well into the future.

A great project to see complete, and one we’re proud to have delivered for David and the Autosmart team 👏🏼

A project might start on site in 2027, but the work behind it begins much earlier.

Site feasibility, design, consultants, approvals, budgeting and programming all take time — and the earlier those conversations happen, the more opportunity there is to work through the details before construction begins.

Another Chappell Building project complete.

The finished development at 18 Sara Street, Toronto comprises 13 industrial units ranging from 86m² to 249m², providing a mix of spaces suited to different business and industrial requirements.

A great result for the team and another industrial development we’re proud to have delivered.

CBS INSIGHTS | WHAT WE’RE SEEING IN THE INDUSTRIAL MARKET 🏗️

After a period where a lot of businesses and developers were taking a more cautious approach, we’re starting to see more conversations turn into real projects.

From our perspective, there’s renewed confidence around commercial and industrial development, with clients revisiting projects that had previously been put on hold and looking more seriously at their next move.

We’re also seeing continued interest in industrial property from investors and business owners, including conversations around SMSF-owned commercial property.

The market is still considered — people are doing their homework and making sure the numbers and project stack up — but there’s movement.

For us, that’s a positive sign heading into the next phase of projects across NSW and QLD.
