Here in Australia we are having an energy crisis. The price of gas has made it no longer an option for heating your home and business. We must get off gas. The best solution is to chose heating systems that use heat pumps. Warmboard hydronic heating system is the superior of all underfloor heating systems and here in Australia we prefer the Australian made AusGeothermal Ambient reverse cycle air to water heat pumps for the heat source. Architects love Warmboard as the system requires no radiators in rooms, it remains invisible delivering radiant heat in silence. Clients love it as so much cheaper to run than gas heated systems. Builders love it because it is so easy to install.

Last week I had the opportunity to visit the $57 Million Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre in Traralgon Victoria as part of a 2 day training event held by AusGeothermal for Dealers.

The centre has been running for 12 months and running costs are significantly less than traditional methods for heating pools.

‘Designed to have a strong sustainability focus, the Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre is the first public aquatic facility in Victoria to incorporate a deep-bore geothermal heating system.

An environmentally friendly sustainable energy source, the use of geothermal energy significantly reduces carbon footprint and decreases annual energy costs.

The system taps in to the aquifer below ground in Traralgon at a depth of more than 600 metres (under the LaTrobe brown coal layer) where the ground water is about 65 degrees Celsius.

The heat energy from the water is taken off via a heat exchanger and the cooled water is reinjected back down into the aquifer at about 40 degrees.

We had the opportunity to attend the AusGeothermal Dealer two day training event and it was very informative.

It’s so important to get behind an Australian Company who is manufacturing heat pumps right here in Victoria.

We recommend these Australian made heat pumps that are made to high standards and they are also very quiet. Amazing technology.
