✨ 15 Years! ✨

This year we celebrate 15 years of Shane “Watto” Watson and O’Connors. During this time, Watto has been an invaluable leader within our construction team where he has delivered on several pinnacle projects for the State of South Australia, including but not limited to by any means RAAF Base, HNA HC1, Learning Hub, Illuminate, Adelaide Convention Centre, AIR555 and SIM, NEXTDC, Health Innovation Building, Osborne South Redevelopment Project, and Osborne North Redevelopment Project.

Watto brings to the team a high level of technical skill and understanding as well as, a long history of delivering our scope with superior quality control, high site safety standards and efficient site operations.

Watto is a kind and considerate team player who offers leadership and assistance to his mates on site when needed. Away from work, he is a devoted family man who is adored by his wife Kelly and children, Tayla and Blake. Shane has a quiet obsession with the Adelaide Crows, enjoys camping, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Congratulations Watto!

As our team continues to grow, we are looking for an Administration Assistant to join us!

If this sounds of interest to you or may be suited to someone you know…we are looking for someone who knows how to deliver quality when implementing important administration assignments. The role will include but not be limited to processing invoices, debtor claims, and maintaining data on various client portals, providing general support, and engaging with our team.

An ideal candidate would have previous administrative experience, a strong willingness to learn, and preferably have intermediate skills in Microsoft Office/365 Suite.

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the loss of Creagh O’Connor, who passed away on Wednesday, 26 February at the age of 88 after a full and resilient life.

Creagh was a Director of O’Connors from 1999 to 2016 during which time he was an inspiration to us all and reminded us to always see the good in people—a true gentleman and a pillar of T. O’Connor & Sons and O'Connors.

You will be deeply missed, Creagh but your legacy will live on through O’Connors, and the industries you helped build.

Time to celebrate, with a Coopers!

Our experienced team has effectively and efficiently completed end-to-end works for the mechanical services at the new world-class visitor centre, microbrewery and whisky distillery at its Regency Park site.

This project has not only been unique and enjoyable but we are excited to be apart of something with such wow factor! We do not doubt that the unique curved design of the new two-storey development, inspired by the iconic Coopers’ label rondel, will have visitors impressed from the moment they arrive!

Our team has worked collaboratively and systematically to deliver a project of quality and excellence, and we are extremely pleased to have done so alongside fellow South Australian and family owned businesses.

It is not everyday that someone receives the highest honour in the HVAC&R and building services industry…being inducted into the Hall of Fame!! During the largest HVAC&R and building services exhibition in Australia!

So, it is extremely exciting for us to announce that our Managing Director, Andrew O'Connor has been inducted into the ARBS Exhibitions Ltd Hall of Fame, a recognition of his substantial contributions to the HVAC&R landscape.

Andrew’s family have a long and rich heritage in the HVAC&R industry - spanning five generations and 130 years since his great grandfather Thomas started a plumbing, heating and ventilation business. His leadership roles, as state and national president of AMCA Australia, and Specialist Contractors Association highlight his advocacy for skill enhancement and equitable and logical risk allocation. Andrew's vision materialised with O'Connors, an institution synonymous with innovation in South Australia's mechanical services sector, emphasising the cultivation of local talent and apprenticeships.

His endeavours focus on developing and mentoring great people within a good work environment. This is evident in the development of future industry stewards, ensuring a thriving sector for generations to come.

Andrew's generous spirit and strategic leadership have not only fostered a team of adept professionals but also promoted a culture of respect and collaboration. His business acumen and passion for the industry resonate through his company's growth and his commitment to the betterment of the field.

These achievements and his profound influence on the industry culminate in his induction into the ARBS Exhibitions Ltd 2024 .

Congratulations Andrew, this is a tremendous lifetime achievement, and very much well deserved! O’Connors and its people appreciate your ongoing and unwavering commitment to the development of good people.

The Tri-Gen Plant Upgrade, which our Service Projects team is undertaking, in conjunction with Sarah Constructions and WSP in Australia, is progressing smoothly at University of Adelaide’s Plant Accelerator building!

To date, we have demolished the existing AHU’s that supplied the Northern Smart Houses, and the new upgraded AHU’s are now installed and functioning. In addition, the existing Tri-Gen equipment (micro-turbines and the absorption chiller) has been removed, allowing installation of the new chillers, pumps and other associated equipment by the One O’Connors team.

Modification of the existing heating hot water and condenser water is currently ongoing, in order to facilitate the new boilers and cooling tower. Furthermore, these project works are being undertaken whilst allowing the facility (Australian Plant Phenomics Facility) to continue their important research within the building.

The 2023 year has been an exciting and rewarding year which has been full of achievements, challenges and opportunities for our team, as well as, the beginning of our expansion into the Northern Territory. As we approach the end of the year, we do so enthusiastically and excited about what the 2024 year will bring.

Our Construction Department will be closed from Friday, 22nd December 2023, through to Tuesday, 9 January 2024.

However, as always, our 24/7 line and Service Department will remain open during this time for your mechanical services needs, and can be contacted on 08 8212 3555 (any time) or 08 7120 7440 (after hours line).
