355Kw 2 Pole 3000rpm motor

Customer dropped this one off Wednesday last week, they pulled it out of service due to a high vibration reading. They run two production lines and asked if we could get it back to them in five days as they would be running at 50% capacity entering a particularly busy period for them.

Initial scope: Strip: Inspect, wash and bake balance rotor to G1 spec and replace bearings.

On removing the NDE frame head we found the cause of the excessive vibration was a sheared balance weight. The weight had been dragged across the windings and damaged all NDE cooling fins. We let the customer know our findings on Thursday morning and they authorised the rewind asking if we could still turn it around for the following Monday.

Our customer reached out again on Thursday afternoon explaining the motor on the other line was having issues and they were now running at 15% capacity and could we get the motor back to them on Saturday.

The winding team were more than up to the challenge working around the clock to get it wound, varnished and in the oven late Friday evening. Mechanical team got it build, tested & painted Saturday morning.

We got it back to the customer 1pm on Saturday.

New scope included

Burnout stator and rewind to spec

Repair rotor fins and balance to G1

Machine repair NDE frame head

Full parts clean and refurbish

Two pack paint finish in epoxy paint

Our WCR team have been delighted to spend some time in December and January supporting HighLine Motorsport sprint car team. This is our first season sponsoring the team and encouraging their Perth based driver Kodie Clayden (3rd year apprentice with West Coast) in his rookie year along with Cole Macedo from Leamore, California USA.

We have been treated to some awesome racing, a few scary moments and some podiums along the way. The HighLine team are currently is Adelaide and will be heading to Victoria in the coming days.

We wish them a safe journey and continued success on the East Coast….

TECO 315kW 4Pole 415V

3 of 15 motors destined for the Northern Territory, shaft mods complete, customer wanted these turned around quickly (5 days). Their regular supplier said it couldn’t be done. Most of the time would have been spent uncrating and recrating them.

We suggested by cutting our way in we could turn them around in 5 days including picking up and dropping them back to our customer in Perth WA.

The value in this one was finding an innovative solution to support our customer and getting these turned around quickly. It should never be all about how much money we can make the value on this one was helping our customer getting these out on time. SERVICE first, second and ALWAYS is enough to WIN the day.

This Joy Scraper Winch will be heading back to service in the WA Goldfields this week after a comprehensive overall. The fitted motor tested fine and was refitted once overhauled. We sent a spare new 18.5kw 4p 1000v 50hz 180MC fl**ge mount TECO motor + modified drive shaft to complete the package.

Dismantle & inspect
Remove corroded gearbox
Remove jammed winch rope
Remove bushings from fairlead yoke
General fabrication repairs to skid & frame
Replace damaged gears
*Low speed planetary gears
*High speed planetary gears
*Motor pinion gear
*Winch drive gear
Manufacture & replace fairlead rollers
Manufacture & replace bushings for fairlead yoke
Re line brake shoes
Replace all bearings and seals
Clean & tap all holes
Paint to specification
Final no-load & function testing
QA & Dispatch
