Pushing 47⁰ one day, rain delays the next... gotta love site work!

Looks like we're in for a long, slow drizzle. Too much rain running down the inside of the pipe and seeping into purge area. Steams up when it gets hot and contaminates the purge, resulting in less than desirable weld quality.

Last job installed and out the door for the year. Custom aluminium A frame made and fitted for this ute for a door company. Another to make in the new year for their 3rd ute.

My office for the past couple of weeks with a few weeks to go . Re-lining a bore in Bold Park with new stainless pipe. This one is a good 700m deep, requiring 118 lengths of pipe to be welded and lowered into the bore.

Show us ya ti.....tanium:-) Always enjoyed welding titanium, once you get to know how to manage heat input, purge and shielding gas, you get some beautiful welds. This one is part of a 40nb Sch80 spool package.

Been a while since my last post! As some of you may know, I've ended the lease at my workshop in Malaga due to a variety of factors, but I'm still getting about! Same clients, same work, same quality. But now, I come to you! I have recently completed round 2 of a structural scope for a local signage company, some carbon steel piping for a regular client in Kewdale and back onto some spooling next week for another regular in Welshpool.

G'day family and friends! Long time no post! I'm sure you've all been bombarded by my marketplace listing's... sorry about that! We've had to make the hard call to wrap up my business, ATD Welding in its current form when lease on current premises expires on 30th May. Not interested in extending my lease in current workshop despite it suiting my business needs extremely well. We've been dealing with ongoing issues with the real estate agent for over 12 months now, who have been throwing on all sorts of outgoing expenses dating back to the 21/22 financial year. This has not only cost me financially, but also mentally. I'm sure any of you in the know of running a small business are aware of how demanding it is, let alone adding the stress of dealing with an unreasonable landlord. Current leasing market is not favourable at all to small business, rental rates and insurance through the roof, coupled with a shortage of skilled labour has led me to the decision to simply life and work. I'm booked in to complete my Diploma of Project Managament and hoping to secure a position with one of the larger mining/oil/gas companies. So if any of you have good contacts in that arena, I'd love to hear from you! Plan B is a bit of freelance/mobile/contract Welding around town, and plan C is a return to FIFO while I seek employment back in Perth.

Thanks to all who have supported ATD over the years, whether that be in the form of work, or just general interest in keeping up to date on projects we've been tackling and throwing me a like or a comment.

ATD got me out of FIFO and gave me precious time with Olivia and Max as they've grown, so the business has served a purpose, and an important one at that! Absolutely no regrets over the past 9 years, but feel the time is now right to change career directions, seek a little more stable employment and enjoy the potential to advance, not to mention the novelty of annual leave!

Happy new year everyone! Hope you all had a great break! We've hit the ground running for 2024 with this 2" titanium scope of pipework. Multi stage job, so there will be more to come. Great to get back into some exotics, and challenging exotics at that!

Getting the 2" titanium qual done. Witnessed and signed off. Good little scope to start off 2024!
