SOLAR SYETEM SETS FAMILY HOME ABLAZE 🔥🔥🔥

The Risk is Real!

For over 12 years now I have educated home owners about the risk that are associated with DC Voltage and how this applies to solar systems.

A solar system is NOT a set and forget product, it is a high DC voltage producing generator you are bolting to your roof!

DC voltage does not behave the same as AC voltage does, that powers our homes. An electrical fault in AC will trip the power, DC will arc and unfortunately events like this can happen.

Quality panels, DC inverters, and quality install teams will not remove this risk entirely as the DC voltage is an underpinning principal of operation in these setups, you just need moisture to get into a DC roof top isolation, a lose connection, a possum chewing through a cable ect and you will have a DC arc! ⚡️

The answer is an AC voltage architecture solar setup that provides rapid shut down and full isolation points at your point of connection ( switchboard ).

I have spent my solar career of over 12 years showing home owners how we can provide solutions that are much much safer and bets of all when you understand how it all works is not even more expensive.

It’s crazy how homeowners now have the opportunity not only to own a large portion of an everyday utility that historically has been fully government or large corporation owned, but also to sell their surplus energy back to the grid in times of need at market value.

There is nothing else like it. You can’t sell your water from a water tank back to the water company, you can’t fuel up your car on a Monday and sell it back to the fuel station on Friday when the price goes up, but you now have the opportunity to do this with your home energy.

⚠️The BIGGEST mistake I see homeowners making when engaging Product and Service based business 🛠️

When a prospect just ask how much $$$$ for an item with no context on what actually makes up the package a business is promoting.

This was a lead that came thorough this morning not wanting to be contacted till they had pricing on a 10 / 20 and 30 KWhs battery.

Despite what the Solar industry has promoted over the last 15 years, solar and battery storage is not a cookie cutter product. There is a lot of nuance when it comes to properly and ethically designing a setup.

In this case we have no idea on:

- The ease or the difficulty of the install
- The amount of usage they are still consuming
- The amount of exported solar they are doing
- Are there differing levels of usage habits from season to season that will affect the operation of the battery.
- Do they want grid back up and if so how much do they want to back up
- Most importantly what do they want to achieve, as behind this request on price of size is a desired outcome / expectation.

I get it though, enquires like this is usually a consumer who doesn't want to deal with a sales person. Here is the kicker though, a lot of the time the type of sales people and companies that do business like this, quick and easy over the phone with low cost points are the exact type of people you want to avoid!

With 24 years in the industry, my advise is stay away from the mass marketing types that flash up low cost points in click bait ads, find someone local with a good reputation, if you find someone that will give you 60-90 mins of their time at no cost to you, to find out what is important to you on the product or service you are looking for, you probability of the product servicing your needs and proving a great outcome dramatically increases.

"Can you really make money out of battery storage ?"

This was a question posed to me earlier this week, the answer is yes.........however you need the correct setup, design and electrical retailer.

With the federal battery rebate in full swing the possibilities through wholesale rates of power with Amber Electric an REA Power solar setup with the new REA Powerbank battery then this is possible.

Here is the results of one of my clients just yesterday with his 20 kWh battery we installed just a few months back.

My client was able to leverage off the demand increase in the energy market caused by this cold snap 🥶 and everyone using there heaters.

Just a small result of $150 credit in just one day!!!
