Safe work is for life. 💛

It’s about making sure every worker finishes the job safely and returns home to the people who matter most.

Before anyone works at height, take a moment to ask:

✅ Is the equipment right for the task?
✅ Has the environment been checked?
✅ Is the worker properly trained?
✅ Are the right safety controls in place?
✅ What could happen if conditions change?

Safe work starts before the first step off the ground.

This National Safe Work Month, let’s keep having the conversations that help make every workplace safer.

Meeting the relevant standard is important - but safe ladder use doesn’t stop there.

Before beginning the job, consider how the equipment will perform in the real working environment.

Is the surface stable?
Is the ladder easy to position?
Is it suitable for the hazards present?
Has it been properly inspected?
Does the user know how to set it up correctly?

The ladder, the location and the way it is used all contribute to a safer outcome.

Choose equipment designed for the work you actually do - not only the height you need to reach.

The right access equipment starts with the task - not the ladder that happens to be nearby.

Before choosing, consider:
✅ How high and how long will the worker be at height?
✅ Is the worker trained for the task?
✅ Is the surface level, sloping or uneven?
✅ Are electrical hazards present?
✅ Will the equipment need to be moved frequently?
✅ Does the worker need tools or both hands available?
✅ What controls are in place if something goes wrong?

The right solution could be an extension ladder, safety step platform, all-terrain system or purpose-designed access solution.

Taking the time to understand the task helps you choose equipment that is better suited to the worker, the environment and the job.

Which ladder would you choose for a site exposed to salt air, moisture or chemicals?

Those conditions can affect access equipment over time, even when the signs aren’t immediately obvious.

Branach CorrosionMaster ladders are designed for corrosive environments. Their fibreglass construction resists corrosion, while the box rail design helps reduce sway and twist as workers climb and work at height.

Choose equipment suited to the conditions, and inspect it before every use. Because confidence at height starts long before the first step.

Rooftop solar. Wind farms 80m up. Offshore turbines battling salt, wind, and vibration nonstop.

Renewable energy doesn't happen in controlled conditions - so the equipment supporting it can't either.

✔ Non-conductive fibreglass for live electrical work
✔ TerrainMaster stabilisers for uneven ground
✔ CorrosionMaster build for harsh coastal sites
✔ Fall Control Systems for remote work at height

Built for the real conditions renewable energy actually happens in. ⚡🌊🌬️

Think ladder accidents happen at the top? Most start at the bottom.

Gravel. Soft soil. Slopes. Uneven concrete. If the ground isn't accounted for, the risk starts before anyone even climbs.

Quick checklist before you set up:

1️⃣ Check the ground - is it level, soft, sloped? Don't assume.
2️⃣ Know the limits - standard ladders are built for flat, stable surfaces only.
3️⃣ Use the right gear - Branach TerrainMaster adjusts from 925mm–1420mm base width, handles slopes up to 15°, and has a level bubble to confirm you're set up right.
4️⃣ Skip the workarounds - chocking or digging your base in isn't safety, it's a gamble.
5️⃣ Make it a habit - 60 extra seconds vs. everything.

Safety doesn't start at the top of the ladder. It starts the moment the base hits the ground. 🪜

Falling isn't the scary part. Being stuck up there afterward is.

Most "fall protection" ladders only do fall arrest - the harness catches you, and that's it. You're left hanging, possibly hurt, while someone else has to climb up to rescue you. More risk, more time lost.

The Branach Fall Control System is different. It's the only portable ladder certified to EN 795:2012-B as one complete system - not parts bolted together.
✅ Strength tested to 12 kN
✅ Stays stable during a fall
✅ Integrated tethering keeps you attached
✅ Ground-based rescue - no one else has to climb

That last one is the game-changer. A colleague on the ground lowers you safely using the built-in descender. Nobody else goes up. Nobody else is at risk.

Real fall protection doesn't end when the harness catches you. It ends when you're safely back on the ground.

One ladder contact point won’t suit every structure.

Flat walls, poles, corners and specialised assets can each require a different setup.

The Branach UniTop is a modular attachment system that allows selected Branach extension ladders to be configured for different access requirements.

For asset and procurement managers, that means:

✅ More flexibility across the ladder fleet
✅ Equipment better matched to the task
✅ Less reliance on a single-purpose setup
✅ The ability to adapt as operational needs change

Instead of expecting one ladder configuration to suit every situation, choose a system that adapts around the work.
