Supporting the development of skilled trades is crucial to the growth and development of our industry. At MTE, our value of Always Growing extends to our apprentices, and we are proud to celebrate the successful completion of Zac's apprenticeship and continue to support the development of his career as a qualified tradesperson.

This achievement is particularly significant, with Zac becoming the first apprentice to complete his trade entirely at our Edinburgh facility. Even more notably, Zac was one of the very first employees to join the Edinburgh team.

Throughout his apprenticeship, Zac has shown consistent effort, a willingness to learn and strong commitment to developing his skills. Completing an apprenticeship takes dedication and persistence, and this milestone is thoroughly deserved.

A great example of our Value ‘Look After Each Other’ in action, Christal Howard took the initiative to complete her Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace accreditation.

Christal is now equipped to provide initial support to colleagues who may be experiencing mental health challenges by offering a safe, respectful space to talk, recognising signs of distress and guiding individuals toward appropriate professional and internal support pathways.

At MTE, looking after each other goes beyond physical safety. We’re committed to a workplace where mental health is supported, conversations are encouraged and no one feels alone.

Winner - Project of the Year

Weld Australia's 2025 Excellence Awards

We’re proud to shine a spotlight on one of our recent achievements, being awarded Project of the Year at last year’s Weld Australia Excellence Awards.
This impressive structure was built to a height of 90m and 2.8m in diameter, showcasing precision engineering, innovation, and Australian manufacturing excellence.

Delivered in seven sections, the project reflects the Quality Tradecraft of our tradespeople, who rolled, fabricated, welded, tested, coated, and prepared each section to exacting standards. This was supported by our engineering and quality assurance teams, who ensured accurate interpretation of the design, controlled tolerances, and verified compliance at every stage of fabrication. A stainless-steel liner and false floor were also installed to combat severe acidic corrosion, significantly improving safety and extending service life in one of the harshest operating environments.

Built under MTE’s ISO-certified management system, the project highlights advanced fabrication, in-house welding expertise, disciplined quality assurance processes, and a strong commitment to sustainability.
