It is with profound sadness that we acknowledge the sudden passing of Justin Woodward, who played an integral role in the development and history of our company for more than 20 years.
For over two decades, Justin worked closely alongside fellow director David Vaughan to develop, refine and continually advance the software that has become fundamental to our business.
Their work together began at a time when software of this kind simply did not exist within our industry. What started as an idea to create something specifically suited to the needs of the business grew into a sophisticated program that helped place us at the forefront of the industry.
Over the following 20-plus years, the program continued to evolve alongside the business. The foundations Justin helped create will always have a lasting influence on the way we operate and will play an important part in allowing our company to grow, innovate and strive to remain ahead of an ever-changing industry.
His contribution cannot simply be measured in lines of code or features within a program. He understood our business, worked through challenges with us and spent more than two decades helping turn ideas into solutions.
Throughout those years, a long-standing working relationship also became one filled with friendship and many shared memories. Outside of his work, Justin had a great love of football, enjoyed a good w**e and loved an adventure.
The news of his sudden passing has come as an enormous shock, and we are heartbroken to have lost someone who has been connected to our company and its journey for such a significant part of its history.
On behalf of everyone at ShedTech, we extend our deepest condolences to Justin’s family, friends and loved ones.
We are incredibly grateful to have had Justin as part of our story. His work and his contribution have left a legacy within our company that will continue well into the future, and he will be remembered with great respect, gratitude and fondness.
As we remember Justin, we hope those who knew him might raise a glass of w**e in his honour and, perhaps, wear their favourite footy jersey — a simple tribute to some of the things he loved and to the many memories shared over the years.
Here’s to Justin, and to a life, contribution and friendship that will not be forgotten.
