Consulting should answer to the result.

Templated reports don't fix a site. Someone who has stood in the pit, run the crew and carried the production number does.

Our consulting is flexible and outcomes-focused. No cookie-cutter frameworks. We look at your operation, find what's holding it back and work on that.

20+ years across Australia, Africa, Mongolia and PNG, from Drillers Offsider to Project Manager. We know what good looks like.

If something on your site isn't performing, get in touch and let's talk it through.

A CV won't show you night shift.

It won't show who picks up the slack when a mate is struggling. Who speaks up at pre-start. Who is still switched on at 3am, hours from the nearest supervisor.

Tickets get someone through the gate. Character decides whether they last.

That's why we assess for natural attributes alongside competence. We've worked the job ourselves, so we know what to look for.

You can't learn a drill rig from a slide deck.

Classroom training ticks a box. It doesn't teach someone how to read the ground, work with the crew around them, or stay sharp at hour ten of a swing.

Our training happens on your site, in real conditions, with people who have done the job themselves.

Not classroom-based. Not generic. Built around your operation.

Want your crew developed where the work actually happens? Get in touch.

Turnover costs more than the roster shows.

Every walk-off means a new induction, a supervisor pulled off the floor, and a crew carrying extra load until the seat is filled again. The invoice from the agency is the small part.

The real cost is lost continuity. Production feels it for weeks.

Most agencies fix the vacancy. We try to fix the reason it keeps opening up. That starts with screening for character, not just tickets.

If your site is stuck in a revolving door, get in touch and let's have a discussion.

Unreliable labour doesn't just cost money.

It costs production, morale, and the trust of every bloke on site who showed up and did the right thing. When someone goes missing at prestart, the whole crew feels it. The supervisor scrambles. The shift plan falls apart before it starts.

Most agencies send you a CV and call it done. They've never stood in a muster circle at 5am. They don't know what it actually takes to hold a position on a working mine.

We do.

At ABD, we screen for character and competence. We train on-site, in real conditions, not in a classroom. Our consulting comes from 20+ years of operational experience across Australia, Africa, Mongolia, and PNG. We've done the work ourselves, from Drillers Offsider to Project Manager.

We're not filling seats. We're building operations that hold.

If unreliable labour is costing your operation, get in touch and let's have a discussion.

Here's a question worth asking: where was the last training your crew did actually delivered?

A conference room? A PowerPoint? A trainer who's never been underground or on a drill site?

We do it differently. Our training happens on site, in real working environments, with people who've actually done the work. Not instructors reading from a manual. People who've climbed the same ladder your crew is on right now.

That context changes everything. The questions are better. The retention is better. The performance back on the job is better.

If your operation needs development that actually sticks, not just a box-tick — that's what we're here for.

The best operation I ever walked onto had nothing flashy about it.

No fancy systems. No consultants on site. Just a superintendent who knew every bloke's name, knew who was carrying something at home, and ran a pre-start that actually meant something.

I've worked across four continents. Australia, Africa, Mongolia, PNG. Different ore bodies, different cultures, different challenges. But the pattern never changed.

The sites that performed had leaders who understood people before they understood process. The sites that struggled had it the other way around.

I've seen operations with world-class equipment and third-rate output. I've seen the opposite too. Ageing fleet, tight budget, and a crew that would run through a wall for their super.

What made the difference wasn't the gear. It wasn't the KPIs on the whiteboard. It was whether the blokes on the tools trusted the person giving the orders.

That's not something you build with a policy document. You build it by being present. By knowing your operation from the ground up. By not asking anyone to do something you haven't done yourself.

Twenty years of watching this play out taught me one thing. Character at the top sets the standard for everyone below it.

That's the standard we hire to. That's the standard we consult to.

If you're building an operation and you want people who actually get this, get in touch and let's have a discussion.

His CV looked average. We hired him anyway.

On paper, he wasn't the standout. Average ticket history, no big-name operators in his background, nothing that would make a volume agency pick up the phone.

But when we sat down with him, something was different. The way he talked about his crew. The way he owned his mistakes without being prompted. The way he asked questions about the operation before he asked about the roster.

That's character. And character is what we screen for.

Thirty days on site. Zero rework. Availability up twelve percent in his area. His leading hand pulled us aside at the end of the month and said he was the best new starter they'd had in two years.

The CV didn't show any of that. It never does.

Most agencies never get close enough to see it. They're matching keywords and ticking boxes. We're having real conversations and reading people the way you learn to after two decades on the tools.

If you're tired of blokes who look good on paper and fall apart on site, get in touch and let's have a discussion about what character-based hiring actually looks like in practice.

Filling a role on site is easy. Finding the right person is harder than most agencies want to admit.

We screen differently.

Qualifications matter — but they don't tell the whole story. We assess for character. For how someone handles pressure, takes direction, and shows up when it counts. Those things don't appear on a CV.

We've been in those roles ourselves. We know the difference between someone who can do the job and someone who will do it well, day after day, in a remote environment far from home.

If you're an ops manager tired of placing people who look good on paper and don't perform on site — we should talk.

That's exactly the problem ABD was built to solve.

Here's the one nobody wants to say out loud.

You hire someone with all the right tickets. Looks good on paper. Shows up day one and within a week the crew's already pulling you aside.

Not because he can't operate the machine. Because he doesn't fit. Doesn't read the site. Doesn't respect the culture your team has spent years building.

And now you've got a problem that no induction checklist fixes.

That's the gap most labour hire companies don't even know exists. They're matching CVs to job specs. Ticking compliance boxes. Moving volume.

We don't work that way.

We've been on the tools. We've run crews. We know what it actually takes to hold a team together through a 12-hour shift in 40-degree heat, when things go sideways and someone has to step up.

So when we put someone forward, we've already asked the harder questions. About character. About how they handle pressure. About whether they'll back their blokes or bail when it counts.

Tickets get you on site. Character keeps the operation moving.

If you're tired of the revolving door and want people who actually fit your operation, get in touch and let's have a conversation.
