Carrig Services has an array of versatile equipment that enables us to ensure projects are completed efficiently. We frequently encounter restricted access which can throw a spanner in the works at times.

We are able to overcome these challenges as our team has the necessary experience, tools and equipment on hand for coring in and around utilities, hand drilling, saw cutting, deep concrete work and road crossings.

One of the best things about working in the construction industry is that no two days are ever the same. This week our team demonstrated their expert skills when challenged with a confined space and restricted access. They were unable to get an 800mm wide core down the manhole as it was only 600mm wide. Unfortunately, this was the only access available.

Safety is our highest priority, and we delivered the best course of action by setting up extractors and blowers to ensure appropriate ventilation. Gas monitors were also set up to detect and alarm if toxic gas was present or if the oxygen concentration was too low. We were able to overcome this challenge and proceeded with the stitch core technique.

This week we also worked closely with our client's traffic controllers to ensure a smooth flow of oncoming live traffic and implemented traffic and pedestrian safety measures to help with the successful completion of two road crossings using our new Husqvarna fs4800d road saw which ensures accuracy and precision every time.
