Vinay played one of the biggest roles in helping WASH-Ed grow into what we are today. From his leadership and dedication, to his kindness and community-focused approach, Vinay was passionate about creating good in our communities.
He was our 2022 Laotian EYAA Volunteer who worked virtually with our team and the amazing volunteers from ASEAN Foundation to support Filipino schools and barangay affected by typhoons in the “Cebu for WASH” project. After wrapping up the program, Vinay came to Australia as an Australia Awards scholar, building a wonderful ecosystem of friends and like-minded change-makers around himself. He still found time to support WASH-Ed as a volunteer in his spare time, and we are able to expand our impact because of him.
The entire WASH-Ed team celebrates Vinay’s life and legacy. May your soul find peace.

Our WASH-Ed team has been very busy, and we're thrilled to tell you what's been going on behind the scenes in the last 30 days! 🎉
• Engineers Kathleen May Faigal and Ira Joshua Manuel (two of our amazing WASH-Ed Co-Founders) attended an exclusive MOU signing with the Rotary Club of Manila as one of 10 strategic partners to socially and economically benefit communities.
• WASH-Ed CEO Thomas Da Jose and Happy Tap Philippines Director Vanna Gonzales-Rodriguez signed a strategic partnership agreement to further scale WASH initiatives in Philippine schools.
• DepEd Tayo Dasmariñas City hosted the "Strengthening School WinS: A Re-orientation on the WASH in Schools Program" event, where WASH-Ed was invited to share insights and introduce our newest product (and Kiko Carabao) for educators to use in the classrooms when teaching WASH. 🕹🐃💧
• "WASH HEROES: Kiko's Flood Escape", a new product from WASH-Ed, received the People's Choice Award (Social Impact) during the 2025 Tech Fest at UTS: University of Technology Sydney due to its overwhelming popularity among youth and educators alike. Over the past Autumn semester, a group of students in the UTS Faculty of Engineering and IT has been working on a gamified learning tool that promotes healthy WASH habits and tests learners' understanding of the WASH-Ed modules.
Thank you to all our partners, supporters, and communities for helping WASH-Ed continuously grow and scale our impact in reaching every classroom in the Philippines! 💙

Today on , we're reminded that 2.2 billion people still live without access to safe water – a fundamental human right that remains unrealized for far too many.
At WASH-Ed, we believe everyone has a responsibility to take action. Whether through education, infrastructure, or community engagement, each of us can contribute to solving the global water crisis and advancing SDG6: water and sanitation for all by 2030💧
We're immensely grateful to our institutional partners, sponsors, schools, dedicated volunteers, and the resilient local communities who make our work possible. Your support enables us to continue our mission of "saving communities, one classroom at a time."

Tomorrow, we celebrate International Women's Day! 💜🤍💚
While we should aim to appreciate and empower women every day, it's an excellent opportunity to remember how far we've come in fighting for women's rights, education, and independence.
This is our WASH-Ed team saying thank you to all the mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, daughters, teachers, nurses, engineers, community leaders, and female founders who have changed lives and saved lives.

ASEAN is full of so many different cultures, foods, mindsets, and ideas. Bringing our team of youth volunteers together takes a lot of empathy, patience, and the willingness to learn. We are appreciative of Maybank, ASEAN Foundation, Maybank Foundation, and ASEAN for trusting us as a CSO to help lead the eYAA Project for future generations.
A special shoutout and feature of Team Leader Paul Hendrik Cortez - Thank you for being a key part of the WASH-Ed community. Every ripple grows the work we do to help even more people across the region.
