Running a small building business right now feels like pushing uphill every single day.
Cost of living is through the roof. Materials keep rising. Labour costs are climbing. And on top of that, we’re constantly competing with unskilled trades undercutting quotes, only to leave behind subpar work that others have to fix.
Then to top it off — we wake up this morning to find another one of our crew has had their car broken into and their tools stolen.
We’re sick of it.
Sick of how hard it’s become to run an honest business.
Sick of tools being stolen from hardworking tradies just trying to do their job.
Our crew rely on those tools every single day. Without them, jobs take longer, delays stack up, and costs increase — for everyone.
This isn’t just a “tradie problem” — it affects clients, timelines, and the entire industry.
We need to start looking out for each other.
If you’re buying second-hand tools, please make sure they’re from a reputable seller. The less demand there is for stolen gear, the less incentive there is for this kind of crime.
Support good trades. Support honest work. And let’s start holding the line on quality and integrity in this industry.
Because right now — enough is enough.
