Recently, a small number of our charging sites around Dandenong in Victoria have been impacted by people cutting charging cables.

Making sure chargers are available when drivers arrive is what matters most to us. So, we’ve looked at what’s worked overseas and are now trialling cable guard technology at a handful of sites — a protective mesh designed to help prevent damage and reduce downtime.

We’re also working closely with authorities and industry partners to tackle the issue.

So if you notice cables looking a little different at some chargers, this is why.

We love sharing news about new Evie fast charging locations, but with a growing focus on expanding and improving existing sites, our upgrades deserve a shoutout too 💛

This year, we’ve upgraded 17 sites with improvements like increased power, added bays and updated charging technology to help reduce wait times and deliver a smoother charging experience.

One of our biggest recent upgrades is our McDonald’s Sutton Forest location on the Sydney–Canberra route. The site now features:
⚡ New 400kW Kempower chargers
🔌 More bays
🚗 Autocharge plug-and-go capability
