Fun fact Friday!

Did you know that The Story Bridge was constructed using over 6 million bolts and approx. 1.5 million rivets? The bridge used around 12,000 tons of structural steel, fabricated with precision and assembled on-site, as well as 38,000 cubic metres of concrete. The bridge was built as a part of a public works project during the Great Depression, employing around 400 workers and opened on the 6th of July 1940

Have you heard of the 6-Thread rule? This is a guideline for ensuring sufficient bolt strength by engaging 6 full threads within a nut or tapped hole. While the load distribution is not equal, this depth ensures the bolt reaches its required tensile strength, as further threads do not significantly increase joint safety

Did you know that stainless steel is "self-healing" due to a thin, invisible chromium oxide layer that repairs itself if scratched. It is also highly hygienic and can even neutralize strong odors like garlic on your hands. It is also 100% recyclable material

Did you know that The Eiffel Tower in Paris is held together by over 2.5 million rivets and bolts. These fasteners have kept the iconic structure standing since 1889. The tower itself is made from wrought iron, a material that will last virtually forever if it is painted regularly. The tower has been painted once every seven years since 1889

But we do promise he was very happy to be a part of the Boltmasters team here in Brisbane.
