Our Rowse Court renovation including the ensuite, powder room and main bathroom is now complete.
Designed by Lydia from Attica Design Studio, each space was carefully considered around our client’s needs, lifestyle and vision for the home.

Pictured here is the ensuite. The brief was to maintain the existing layout, while improving functionality and creating a more luxurious feel.
The double vanity with a thick stone bench top, generous double shower, built-in niche and shower shelf all elevate the space, while the increased under-bench storage and custom shaving cabinet by Module Dezines provide practical storage exactly where it’s needed. The quality of the cabinetry finish is exceptional, and we’re so happy with how it has come together.

The custom cabinetry, handle details and feature lighting bring a luxurious feel to the space, but our favourite addition has to be the underfloor heating, which is quickly becoming a non-negotiable in WHC bathrooms.

We’ll share more of this project soon, but for a closer look at the ensuite head over to our Instagram page.

Selections are overwhelming, we understand there are lots of decisions to be made and even a simple thing like choosing which white can be stressful.
In Part 2 of our Selections Q&A with Abby, she covers how to best navigate the overwhelm and not let the overthinking takeover.

Check out last week’s video for Part 1 of our Q&A.

And as always, if you have any other questions about selections, or anything else, comment before or send us a message.

The answer is, quite a lot.

Roof and ceiling insulation, wall insulation, gap sealing, and a tight thermal shell all work together to reduce heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer…which means you save on your energy bill.
Better building practices and energy efficient design aren’t always the most visible parts of a build or renovation, but they’re often the ones that make the biggest difference long term.
A better performing home means more than lower energy bills, it means a home that feels more comfortable, more consistent, and better suited to the climate it sits in. It can also mean an increase to your property’s value if/when you choose to sell. We’ll go into that more in future posts.

To better understand how your home performs, book our Better Living Brief to see how you can save on your home’s energy bills. Find out more via link in comments.

The master walk-in robe at really does have it all.

A luxurious and spacious room with impressive storage, elevated design details, and careful consideration for how it will be used every day.
The custom cabinetry, complete with a built-in dressing table is our favourite element.

Beautiful, practical, and thoughtfully designed for our client.

NEW BLOG ALERT
Farming families, this one is for you.
Are you taking over the keys of the family farmhouse, or is it a possibility in the future?

Our latest blog goes into the tough conversations that may occur, as well as how best to navigate this transition for your family, the farm and the home itself.

For many families, the focus is on renewing the home, not replacing it. This renewal should be more than just a facelift to appear comfortable for who moves in. It should be about improving how the home performs, creating spaces that suit your stage of life, and ensuring the home that holds so many memories continues to support both the family and the business for generations to come.

At WHC, we specialise in helping rural families thoughtfully refresh inherited homes and craft new homesteads, protecting what matters, improving what’s needed, and building for the next generation.

When our client came to us wanting a steam shower, we said ABSOLUTELY!

And then proceeded to add it to our own wish list because how could you not?

What does a Zone 4 climate actually mean?

It’s not just a building code classification. It’s a way of understanding the conditions your home needs to respond to.
Zone 4 is a mixed climate, hot summers and cool winters. Which means Mildura homes need to handle both extremes, not just one.

Building codes use climate zones to set minimum standards. But minimum is simply a benchmark, not a measure of comfort.
Orientation, insulation, glazing, sealing and material selection all work together to meet code standard, and influence how your home feels day to day. When above code standards are implemented, the difference in comfort can be significant.

The reality is, you can meet code and still end up with a home that struggles to stay comfortable.

At WHC, our standard exceeds code. Not to tick a box, but to create high quality, high performing homes that are built to last.

How many living spaces do you actually need?

We’re seeing more and more new build floor plans designed with two, three or even more separate living areas, but it’s worth asking the question… do you really use them all?
Or do they become spaces that sit empty, only to be cleaned and maintained for very occasional use?

A quality home doesn’t have to be a large home. Often, a well-considered floor plan can do more with less.
A flexible living space that adapts to how your family lives, whether that’s everyday use, entertaining, or creating quiet zones when needed. Alternatively, incorporating nooks or connected spaces within your floor plan that serve a purpose without needing a full additional living area.

This is where a custom builder makes a real difference. At WHC, we’re heavily involved in the planning stage, prompting you to think through how each space will actually be used and offering alternatives so your layout is intentional. Maximising every square metre within your budget to create a home that’s truly designed for your family.
