Today is International Women’s Day, held annually on 8 March to recognise the achievements of women and reflect on the work still ahead to achieve gender equality.
In the mining industry, around 1 in 5 workers are women.
Behind those statistics are real people balancing careers, families and community responsibilities.
For us, the day is about recognising the contribution women make every day in our workplace, in their homes and across our communities. It is also a reminder that progress towards equality is not the responsibility of women alone, and each of us has a role to play in creating respectful workplaces, supporting opportunity and challenging barriers when we see them.
We thank the women across Kimberley Mineral Sands and Thunderbird for the contribution you make every day, and we acknowledge our shared responsibility in working towards a more balanced future.
