Big solar install wrapped up recently ☀️

Close on 40kW of panels, 30kW of inverters paired with battery storage and backup generator support, keeping this local business powered and resilient. Great to see the system pushing nearly 30kW into the site today when I was doing some checking.

Always good helping businesses take control of their energy. We monitor each new install for a few weeks to ensure everything is working as it should.

Most people never see what happens under their panels.

When we install roof brackets, we pre drill the trusses before fixing into them. We don’t just send a screw through and hope it holds.

Why?

Because hardwood trusses can split if you don’t pre drill. That splitting, often called plotting, weakens the timber. And that timber is what’s holding your entire solar system down in high winds.

Pre drilling relieves the stress in the timber. The fixing bites properly without forcing the wood apart. Stronger connection. Less structural risk. Longer lasting install.

It takes more time. It adds labour which might mean we are a bit more expensive.

Most installers won’t bother.

We will.

Because saving a bit of time isn’t worth compromising the structure of your roof.
