Did you have a good National NAIDOC Week?

was out on Country on Duduroa, Wurundjeri and Wiradjuri lands at flag raising ceremonies, art galleries, concerts and movies to celebrate First Nations peoples and cultures.

Our Safety and Culture Day is something quite unique.

We close our sites across the country and come together to focus on the two most important aspects of our business.

This year we gathered in Wodonga where we were welcomed to Duduroa Country by Johnny Murray with a Smoking Ceremony.

We spent the morning discussing workplace health and safety, including our own mental and physical wellbeing. Then, because we walk the walk, it was time for a break in the fresh air, for a TVN version of TV’s The Amazing Race!

This is a great team building activity, especially when you have employees in offices and on sites across multiple states. By the end of the session, new alliances had definitely been formed!

In the afternoon, we were privileged to have Duduroa Elders Aunty Val Murray and Uncle Phil Murray share their experiences of growing up on a mission. The Elders also showed us old video footage of life on a mission - it was humbling.

Back outside in the cold we warmed up by learning traditional methods of hunting with throw spears and boomerangs.

The team got a special lesson from master craftsman, Uncle Allan Murray, who demonstrated the art of stone knapping - an ancient process shaping fine-grained, high-silica stones into sharp tools by striking them with a hammerstone. We all had a go and there were a few cuts … but no Lost Time Injuries!

When it gets cold, we make salami!

It’s an annual tradition as old as our construction business.

Every winter, we camp on the banks of the mighty Murray River, on beautiful Yorta Yorta Country, and churn out hundreds of sticks of the good stuff.

This year we produced 472 sticks – a record!

This is what we call team building. Working together to make something delicious.

And how cool are our personalised Salami Day 2026 trucker caps, thanks to Cobrapparel in Wagga Wagga!

Yep, we’re not your average construction company.

Our MD, Jebb Hutchison, used to be a bovine surgeon (aka butcher) and loves leading the proceedings.

Getting out on Country is a rewarding experience for us all, and the yarning around the fire at the end of the day is priceless.
