Jenson & Nicholson (Bangladesh) Limited, a subsidiary of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, is one of the pioneer in metal can manufacturing industry in Bangladesh. The company manufactures metal cans of both food grade and non-food grade maintaining best practices of quality and HSE. The company first started business in Bangladesh as a paint manufacturer in 1970 by setting up its first factory at
Kalurghat, Chittagong with the brand name “Berger”. Because of its outstanding quality, the brand “Berger” became so popular that the management renamed the company as “Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd” on 1st January, 1980. Again from the realization of protecting the name “Jenson & Nicholson”, the management registered a company named “Jenson & Nicholson (Bangladesh) Limited” on 1st January, 1990. Since then Jenson & Nicholson (Bangladesh) Limited is a 100% subsidiary of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited. Initially from 1992, J&N started importing Tin plates and outsourced sheet printing to Dhaka and can manufacturing to local manufacturers at Chittagong to supply metal cans to Berger Paints. Again to meet growing orders from Barger Paints, and to maintain better quality, the company set up can manufacturing facility at its own factory established at Nasirabad, Chittagong. Since then the company invested heavily on machineries and manpower to maintain its smooth growth in paint can segment and to explore opportunities in food grade containers segment. Alongside with paint can sales to Berger Paints; the company is also supplying ghee cans to MilkVita and Aarong. The management of the company is always critical to technology and quality. Best in class ERP system SAP was implemented in the year 2014. Recently the company is pursuing to acquire ISO (Quality, Health, Environment, and Safety) and FSSC (Food Safety Systems) certification by adopting best practices.
