A depth camera is another step toward smarter autonomy for the Antimass USV.
By adding depth perception, the USV gains a better understanding of its surroundings, enabling more reliable obstacle detection, distance estimation, and safer autonomous navigation in dynamic environments.
Every sensor brings us one step closer to intelligent marine robotics.

🚀 Excited to share one of our latest developments at Antimass Robotics.

We built Antimass Marine USV, an autonomous Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) simulation from the ground up using ROS 2 Jazzy and Gazebo.

The system features:
β€’ 🌊 Realistic USV simulation in Gazebo
β€’ 🧭 Browser-based remote control dashboard
β€’ πŸ“‘ Live camera streaming with RViz visualization
β€’ 🎯 Real-time colored ball detection, tracking, and counting using OpenCV
β€’ πŸ“Š Automatic CSV/Excel logging of detection results
β€’ βš™οΈ Modular ROS 2 architecture for future autonomous navigation and sensor fusion

This project is an important milestone toward our vision of developing intelligent autonomous marine robots for environmental monitoring, inspection, and search-and-rescue applications.

Next, we’re expanding the platform with sensor fusion, GPS/IMU integration, waypoint navigation, and AI-powered autonomous mission planning.

Every prototype brings us one step closer to the future of autonomous marine robotics.

Developing a differential drive robot at AntiMass Robotics πŸ€–πŸš€

Currently designing the robot in Fusion 360 and preparing it for ROS 2 integration through URDF-based simulation.
So far, the robot includes:
β€’ 2-wheel differential drive system
β€’ 2 caster wheels
β€’ LiDAR sensor
β€’ Depth camera

This project is part of our journey toward building intelligent autonomous robotic systems focused on navigation, perception, and autonomous mobility. Excited to continue working on SLAM and autonomous functionalities next. πŸ”₯
