🌱 LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE: WHO DESERVES SUPPORT?
For the past 8+ years, Jute Polymer has worked relentlessly to develop Sonali Bag — a truly biodegradable, jute-based alternative to harmful plastics. Made from the golden fiber of our land, this innovation is 100% plant-based, compostable, and safe for our environment.
We didn’t do this for fame.
We did it because Bangladesh deserves real solutions — not greenwashed ones.
But now, as we move toward the commercial production phase, something deeply troubling has happened.
🚫 The Advisor of the Ministry of Textile and Jute has recently denied essential government funding for our project — funding that was previously approved to help scale this homegrown technology for national and global impact.
🤔 Why was the funding suddenly blocked?
🤔 Who benefits from halting an eco-friendly project that helps jute farmers, protects the environment, and brings global recognition to Bangladesh?
🤔 Is it just a coincidence that this advisor is directly involved in promoting PBAT-based plastic bags, which are petroleum-derived and NOT truly biodegradable?
PBAT-based bags:
⚠️ Depend on imported chemicals
⚠️ Are petroleum-based, not plant-based
⚠️ Require industrial composting
⚠️ May release microplastics into soil
Meanwhile, Sonali Bag is:
✅ Homegrown, natural, and jute-based
✅ Biodegradable in natural environments
✅ A product of Bangladesh’s own research and scientific progress
✅ A direct support to farmers and local industries
🇧🇩 This is not just a business issue — this is a national issue. We urge the public, policymakers, and the environmentally conscious youth to raise your voice.
