From Mechatronics System Design to Robotics Research

Our Mechatronics System Design course project became much more than just building a robotic arm.

Project title: “Performance Evaluation of a Teleoperated Robotic Arm Using Different Communication Protocols Based on Latency and Task Efficiency Metrics.”

The night before our presentation, an incorrect battery polarity connection burned 4 servo motors and 1 ESP32. At the same time, our slides were still incomplete.

We had very little time, but we rebuilt the system, completed the testing, finished the presentation, and presented the project successfully.

That night taught me: Pressure doesn't always stop us; sometimes it reveals our ability to solve problems under pressure.

As team leader, I also tried to introduce an industrial-style workflow; Git/GitHub collaboration, task distribution, code contribution, testing, debugging, and teamwork.

I'm especially grateful to our course teacher Rumana Tasnim, who continuously encourages us to build robotics projects instead of limiting ourselves to theory. After the presentation, she encouraged us to develop this work further and prepare an IEEE conference paper.

For me, that's the real value of a good teacher: not just teaching a course, but creating the confidence to become an engineer and researcher.

To fellow students: Don't be afraid when your project fails. Fix it, learn from it, and build again. Every failure is part of your engineering experience.

The Real Lesson
The most valuable part of this project wasn't just making the robotic arm work. It was learning how to continue when things don't work.

Build → Fail → Debug → Learn → Improve → Build Again

We enjoyed the project, although there were definitely moments of pressure and fear, especially when hardware started burning the night before the presentation. 😅

But those moments are also part of becoming an engineer.

And yes...
Next time, we are checking battery polarity twice. 😄

I am delighted to share a small yet meaningful milestone from my university journey.

As a Mechatronics Engineering student, I always believe that innovation happens when different fields come together. Through my involvement with the Smart Textile Research Group, I got the opportunity to explore an interdisciplinary research area where textiles, electronics, sensors, and embedded systems are connected to develop smart solutions.

I am honored to receive recognition for my contribution to smart textile research. This achievement makes my university journey more meaningful and motivates me to continue learning, researching, and contributing to innovative technologies.

During the prize distribution ceremony, my respected teacher introduced me to the university authorities and program guests and shared my journey as a Mechatronics Engineering student working on embedded systems and wearable electronics research. He highlighted how my expertise contributes to the development of wearable electronic solutions and smart textile applications. The honorable university authorities and program guests appreciated this interdisciplinary collaboration and encouraged students to explore research beyond departmental boundaries. This moment reinforced my belief that innovation grows when different fields come together.

And during the ceremony, our respected teacher also shared an inspiring message: “Giving you this prize means your responsibility in research has increased. You have to continue your research journey with more dedication and commitment.”

These words inspired me to take more responsibility in my research journey and continue working toward meaningful innovations.

I sincerely appreciate the Smart Textile Research Group and the Department of Textile Engineering, World University of Bangladesh (WUB) for providing such a valuable platform and supporting interdisciplinary research.

Looking forward to learning more, collaborating across disciplines, and contributing to future technologies.

A truly inspiring and insightful day for us as Mechatronics Engineering students.

Today, I had the privilege of attending the seminar “HIGHER STUDIES IN THE USA AND JAPAN: Opportunities, Challenges, and Preparation” organized by the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, World University of Bangladesh.

The seminar was conducted by our respected mentor, Mr. Protik Barua, PhD Researcher at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a lecturer in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, WUB. His valuable insights on higher education, research opportunities, academic preparation, and international research environments provided us with meaningful guidance and motivation for our future goals.

I am truly grateful to have the opportunity to learn from a mentor who has achieved this remarkable milestone in his academic journey. I also had the privilege of working with sir on research projects, including:

● “Fab-Tune: A regulator of the Basic Features of Cell Phone” link: https://lnkd.in/gux4mg7a
● “Enhancing ECG Heart Rate Measurement Accuracy through Advanced Noise Cancellation Techniques” link: https://lnkd.in/gy6EzHvc

These research experiences have strengthened my passion for innovation, problem-solving, and advanced research in the field of Mechatronics Engineering. I look forward to continuing my learning journey and hopefully collaborating with sir on future research initiatives.

Wishing sir continued success and achievements in his PhD journey and research career. May Allah bless him with more knowledge, success, and opportunities to contribute to the research community.

Thank you, sir, for your valuable guidance and for inspiring us to pursue excellence in research and higher studies.

Eat. Sleep. Code. Debug. Repeat... and sometimes, just pass out on the floor.

Behind every successful project or working robot are hundreds of hours of absolute isolation. No weekend trips. No hanging out with a friend circle. Just me, my laptop, and a room full of hardware.
University life for a Mechatronics student isn’t a party; it’s a constant battle between overwhelming exhaustion and the drive to learn more. It’s a heavy sacrifice, but big dreams require a big price.

China’s humanoid robot factories are on another level

I was honestly shocked by how human these robots look and move.
Their walking style, hand movements, and facial expressions, it almost feel like science fiction becoming reality.

The future of robotics is arriving faster than we imagined.
Soon, humanoid robots may work in factories, hospitals, homes, customer service, and even dangerous environments where humans cannot safely work.

As a robotics student, seeing this gives me huge motivation to learn more about:
Robotics, AI, Embedded Systems, Control Systems, Programming

One day, I also want to build advanced humanoid robots 🇧🇩🔥

The robotics revolution has already started.

Turning Random Thoughts into Structured Knowledge

Hey everyone!

In our learning journey, especially with tech like robotics or others field in general, random learning leads to confusion and wasted time. That’s why structure is everything.

📌 Here’s what I follow:

Start with a roadmap – know where you’re going.
Master the basics first – no skipping fundamentals.
Build core concepts – this makes complex things easier.
Organize your notes – I use Notion to structure every idea, every thought, and every mini-project.

When you turn random ideas into structured knowledge, learning becomes faster, more efficient, and way less frustrating. Your future self will thank you!

💡Tip: Capture screenshots or notes in Notion as you learn. Seeing your progress structured visually is a huge motivation!

GitHub: Where my robotics journey lives, learns, and inspires beyond me.

Let’s build something that lives beyond us.
