On Belgium’s National Day, we’d love to put our local identity in the spotlight. 🇧🇪

As a Belgian family-owned company, Bekina products are used all over the world. Yet even after 60+ years, the beating heart of our operations and production is still based in Kluisbergen, in the middle of the beautiful Flemish Ardennes.

Working at Bekina means enjoying benefits from this inspiring location:
✅ A workplace surrounded by nature and flower meadows
✅ Easy to reach by car via the E17 (Ghent - Kortrijk) or by bike (along the cycling highway F45)
✅ Lunch breaks in a green setting

At Bekina, you get the best of both worlds: a strong local identity with a global impact.

Strong teams are built inside and outside the workplace. 💪

Last weekend, some Bekina colleagues took part in the B2B Jekri Obstacle Run in Roeselare. And they certainly stood out, tackling the course in the most colourful safety boots from Bekina Boots!

Congratulations👏

At Bekina, we strongly encourage initiatives like these. They are a great way to stay active, support a healthy body and mind, and foster close bonds on and off the work floor.

At Bekina, we're proud to support local initiatives through our partnership with Streekfonds Oost-Vlaanderen. 🤝

Last Friday, we attended the official opening of Heerlijkheid Axelwalle, a crowdfunding project that perfectly reflects our shared values of connection, inclusion, sustainability and respect for nature.

Located at the Axelwalle school farm, Zorg in 't Groen - a project by Bernardusdriesprong. They help prevent school dropout by giving young people the opportunity to learn, grow and reconnect through hands-on experience in nature. Heerlijkheid Axelwalle adds a meeting place in the neighbourhood with a picnic area, a bee hotel and a book-swap cabinet.

Besides supporting the project financially, we also donated several safety boots from Bekina Boots, helping the students work safely and comfortably on the school farm.

A special thank you to Hugo Maes, coordinator of Zorg in 't Groen, for the kind words about Bekina's support during the opening ceremony. Recognition like this reminds us why investing in local initiatives with shared values truly matters.

At Bekina, we believe in taking that extra step - for our people, our partners and our community. 💚

World Environment Day 🌍

At Bekina, sustainability is anchored in our day-to-day business operations. We make a resolute choice for sustainable solutions and continuously look for ways to create a positive impact for people and planet.

That commitment extends beyond our products and processes. While manufacturing sites are often associated with grey, industrial surroundings, at Bekina we invest in creating a green environment that blends seamlessly into the Flemish Ardennes and supports biodiversity.

Including:
✅ 17 bird species
✅ 350 valuable oak trees
✅ Various wadis
✅ Colourful flower meadows.

Thanks to our proactive approach, our company grounds have evolved into a green corridor connecting nature zones.

Together we are building a more sustainable future. 🌱

Bike to Work Day 🚴‍♂️

At Bekina, sustainability is part of our DNA. When it comes to mobility, we continuously work on reducing the CO₂ impact of our transport flows - including those of our own employees. That’s why we also actively promote cycling to work.

We support our colleagues with:
✔️ a maximum bike allowance
✔️ an attractive bike leasing program

A true win-win:
✔️ better for the personal health
✔️ a positive environmental impact through lower CO₂ emissions
✔️ time savings by avoiding traffic jams

Last year, 32 colleagues took part in the leasing program. Together, they cycled 52424 km commuting to and from work. 9 colleagues even cycled each more than 3,000 km. A great contribution to a more sustainable future.

Today, on Bike to Work Day, we’d like to give an extra round of applause to all of them 👏

Are you joining the ride?

Working with family: it happens here more often than you’d think. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Partners, brothers and sisters, parents and children, cousins… working across our different business units.

And maybe that’s no coincidence… because as a family business that familiar feeling is simply part of our DNA. Working, helping and growing together as colleagues - and as family.
