First, figuring out what you actually want from it.

A space for the pool equipment? Definitely.
A shower, so nobody has to walk dripping through the house? Absolutely.
A covered spot for some shade? Yes please.
A lounge area for those long afternoons by the pool? Obviously.

And if we’re doing this properly… a little kitchen for cold drinks and snacks.
