Employee Spotlight: Nametsegang Mosweu

Nametsegang Mosweu, a Supply Chain Officer in the Engineering and Supply Chain Management Department, takes centre stage in this edition’s Employee Spotlight as we celebrate the people whose dedication, expertise and passion contribute to Naledi’s success. With over 20 years of experience in the mining industry and more than three years at Naledi. Nametsegang brings a wealth of knowledge and commitment to her role. Her career journey began in finance and administration within the mining sector, where she developed a strong foundation in accounts and business operations before transitioning into supply chain management.

Holding certifications in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, Safety Health and Environment, Bookkeeping and Accounts, and First Aid Training, she continuously strives for professional growth while supporting operational excellence. As a Supply Chain Officer, Nametsegang is responsible for sourcing critical parts from suppliers and ensuring invoices are processed efficiently for payment. Her role plays an important part in maintaining equipment availability and minimizing operational downtime, contributing to cost savings and business continuity.

One of the professional lessons that has shaped her career is the importance of putting customers first and exercising patience when assisting others. This people-centered approach continues to guide her daily interactions and work ethic. Beyond the workplace, Nametsegang is passionate about youth development and community empowerment. She founded a soccer team initiative aimed at keeping young people away from drugs, alcohol abuse, and other social challenges, while encouraging participation in sport and positive life choices. When asked what achievement she is most proud of, Nametsegang highlighted her ability to support mining operations by ensuring mechanics have the parts they need to keep equipment running and production on track.

Her advice to young professionals entering the industry is simple but powerful:
"Work well with others, respect people, embrace teamwork, and follow policies and procedures."

Today, we celebrate the women who represented Naledi at the recently concluded Women in Mining Conference, showcasing their leadership, expertise and contribution to Botswana’s mining industry.

A special congratulations goes to Tumelo Sejo Boitumelo, Safety and Health Coordinator, and Maungo Peters, Training Coordinator (Engineering), who were honoured at the Women in Mining Game Changers Awards.

Tumelo was recognised in the Rising Star in Mining category, while Maungo received an Award of Distinction at the event. These achievements reflect the growing impact of Naledi women across the mining sector.

Naledi was also well represented in the conference programme by Oabona Letshuti, Safety and Health Officer, who moderated the session, β€œShaping the Industry: Women Influencing Decisions Across the Mining Sector,” and Ketswanao Shaka, Grader Operator, who participated as a speaker and shared her perspective on what it means to be a game changer in mining.

Their participation and achievements demonstrate the important role women continue to play in shaping the future of mining through leadership, innovation, technical expertise and meaningful industry dialogue. We are delighted to see our women taking their place, sharing their voices and making their mark in the mining industry.

As we continue Creating Limitless Possibilities for a Better Tomorrow, we remain committed to creating spaces where women can lead, influence, innovate and help shape the future of mining.
