Fuel prices go up from Monday
BERA statement just in says:
Retail price of unleaded petrol 95 will increase by P1.31 per litre;
Diesel 50ppm will increase by P1.42 per litre; and
Illuminating paraffin will increase by P2.08 per litre.
“Generally, the analysis of international product prices showed mixed movements, with petrol increasing slightly while diesel and illuminating paraffin decreased due to weaker industrial demand and milder temperatures.
“However, the combined effect of a weaker P**a against the Rand and US Dollar, higher freight costs, and unadjusted domestic pump prices has left the slate position vulnerable, heightening fiscal exposure between government and oil companies.
“The interplay of these dynamics resulted in significant under-recoveries across all petroleum products,” BERA said.
Changes take effect at midnight (that is, from 00:01hrs) on Monday, 15th September 2025
